Updates my site, I started working on of a lot of new features for the site (online emulation, integration of the forum with the site...). I had to disable the flash menu for the moment (I put a HTML one with some Java features until the update's complete), updating all site with the flash menu working was a pain in the ass... The site could not work properly for the next couple of months, so I would thank you if I get informed of the problems you could have with it to start fixing them;-) .
Few updates on my site, first new look and new blog platform: wordpress. WP gives me much more freedom than Blogger, themes are nicer... Anybody ever saw a real scale model of a Thunder Force ship??? Follow the link I have also started sections talking about PC-FX and PC-FXGA it's a work in progress but feel to comment, correct or add stuffs!!! I have now an official Wanted page and a soon to be For Trade. Sabre
This week, the game covered at satakore.com is the Game Basic for SegaSaturn, a great and powerful program to develop on your Saturn (for your enjoyment only). Just check the screenshots, the review and the video to get some idea of what you can do with it. http://www.satakore.com/
You can add my deviant art and blogspot sites to that http://hawanja.deviantart.com http://hawanja.blogspot.com (Why I Hate the World)
Hooray, I have my own site now as of a couple days ago! not a whole ton there just yet though. www.gamesncrap.com
NEW VIDEO SERVER Site NEWS May 29th 2007 - Great news this month for anyone who watches the movie vault section of the site (judging by the hits it gets that's quite a lot of you) thanks to the new dedicated server I've just bought purely for the movies. What this means is that we no longer have to put up with the awful video & sound quality that YouTube, Googlevideo and recently Yahoo video offer. All new additions this update are now in 700kbps quality which I must say is very good for flash video complete with stereo sound. I'll be updating all previous videos to this new format as well in the coming weeks. This week you can look forward to new improved quality versions of the Dead or Alive, NiGHTS and Fake Down (Unreleased Saturn game) as well as new additions in the shape of Manx TT Super Bike, I Miss You, Astra Superstars, Alien Trilogy the Trial, Blood Factory, The House of the Dead Trial, Magical Girl Pretty Sammy, Photo Genic, Primal Rage, Tennant Wars and Whizz. And why not direct downloads of Xvid or similar? I hate watching video in flash boxes, even if they're "full screen" they always have something distracting showing. I guess it depends on your bandwidth limitations, but with people repeat viewing videos I don't think you'd gain much by using flash for video. Embedded movies are mostly used to (try and) prevent people from copying your videos, is this what you're trying to do?
I'm using Adobe CS3 to encode the videos. The files are 700kbps 480x320 30fps with 80kbps stereo audio. As for the reason why use flash over Xvid (The originals are Xvid on my HD) is because they take up way too much space for the same quality you can see in Flash. The NiGHTS clip I updated is only 23MB but the Xvid version (Same quality and screen resolution but lower sound rate) is 91MB ! Now you can see why many people go the flash rout. Also like you said, it stops arse holes steeling the videos, erasing the watermarks then passing them off as their own. It's much harder to erase a watermark on Flash than avi/mpeg etc. If people would like to download the videos then that's fine. There are plenty of good FLV players outt here. Yakumo
As Always, I've picked things up on your site ryan Naigaton instead of navigation on the homepage, and in graphics the only way to go back is through hitting back on the browser - would be nice to keep the sidebar. also, still on graphics I'd like to be able to see a bigger verson of that painting, it looks pretty good. Otherwise, the site looks very snazzy - well done. Glad someone else liks house MD I'll be getting the last episode later tomorrow!
heh, yea, its not perfect, I was given a deadline of 45 minutes to build the site, so alot of things got left on the cutting room floor as for the painting itself, the smaller it is, the better it is, in real life, its kinda cruddy....note, the painting is 4x8 feet as for house, heh, the season finale is on right now (9:06 eastern).... looks like a good one lol oh, and thanks for the input, its nice to see some constructive criticism Ryan
In addition to working on a "Hot News" header on my site (check it out btw!), Ive added a Saints Row Demo glitch video in 720P, by request actually.
Site NEWS June 3rd 2007 - No new updates to the main site this week but there are a few to the movie vault. All videos up to "H" are now in the new high resolution format plus have download links to the avi versions of the video. The avi files are identical if not slightly better than the flash versions that you can stream since that's what the flash versions were encoded from. Please download the file if you whish to view the video clip more than once. This will greatly help on bandwidth which in turn will allow more videos to be added. New videos this week include GameBasic for Sega Saturn and Lupin the 3rd Chronicles. Yakumo
Posted another update to my site, which brings 3 Halo 3 Beta Videos in HD. Compression was crap for two of them, but my uploads kept corrupting.
What's new this week at www.satakore.com : - I updated the database by adding 3 more games, 1 demo and updated 1 game's title. - 750R filled another batch of entries - johnnyrio and Orochi Kyo sent me some new pictures - johnnyrio edited/corrected my review of Game Basic for SegaSaturn and he made reviews for: Cotton 2, Game Tengoku ~the Game Paradise~, Keiou Yuugekitai and Digital Pinball Necronomicon. - Runaway Spacecowboy, one new contributor, made reviews for: Baku Baku, Command & Conquer, Madou Monogatari, Scorcher and Vampire Savior. I really want to thanks a lot both of them for making such reviews (which are available in english on each game's page). Keep sending some new ones! If some people want to contribute by writing (mini)-reviews for the site, just drop me a e-mail or use the contact form of the site. We need you! Thanks in advance. Do you remember the videos made back in 2004 for satakore.com ? They were available for direct download for some times. Now they are only available at Google Video and Youtube. Are you looking for them in their original forms with better quality that flash offers ? We were probably the first site to let you download such videos for Sega Saturn (to let you discover some games for more than 1 or 2 mins). The great news is these videos (and all the new ones) will be available here again for download in the near future. But for now, you can already grab the first part (38 videos) at the well known torrent site: UG (if you don't know the address, just contact me). Just remember: The quality are not the best available because they were made in 2004, when codecs are not as powerfull as the ones available these days
