Metal Gear Solid 2 vs The Twin Snakes

Discussion in 'Rare and Obscure Gaming' started by Nintendomad, Nov 28, 2004.

  1. I guess I'm still wondering why it was decided Twin Snakes needed to be made at all. Porting a game to multiple systems, sure. Doing a remake and changing/adding things the way you would have liked it (PSX->GC Resident Evil, N64->DC Bangaioh), sure that works. But when you resurrect a game approaching 10 years old on a new console and leave the majority of it the exact same (and add in the first-person aiming which makes the game far too easy), I guess I just don't see the point.

It was VERY easy. The fight with Vulcan Raven was WAY harder on the psx version...

I'm just hoping that since they can now do jungle settings again that they might hopefully decide to remake the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear: Solid Snake. Not that the originals aren't great but I'd love to be able to play those in 3D.

  4. I'd love the chance to play Metal Gear: Solid Snake without resorting to obscure emulation.

I'd love to see a Metal Gear game on the DS. They could maybe do some cool stuff with the dual screens ^_^ I quite like the thought of having to stay hidden whilst using the codec....at the very least they could just shove all the stats onto the second screen leaving more visible room on the main screen.

I can see quite a few people agree with me on the twin snakes front....it was a pile of tosh unfortunately*not the story, that still holds up, but those gfx and new shit were utter garbage.)

I loved MGS2 , the story was far out, but hey I love acid(lsd) and it made perfect sene to me.I hope metal Gear Acid is as good story wise as the other three, with it being a non kojima project...I am a little worried.

MGS3 is one of the greatest games ever, and the graphics are the best on any system to date, even some of the xbox shit cannot match what Konami have done on the ps2 here and with the restricted views that yopu have in Bohazard 4...it won't match it either.
