This by chance isn't the article from 2002-2003 ish that was reposted as if it was recent. That was discredited all over the net.

    --edit--
I don't get why everybody makes a big deal out of it.

MGS2 for xbox was a piece of shit. Knowing the way kojima works, I highly dout a 360 version of MGS4 would actualy run better then the ps3 version.

    --edit2--
The link above finaly loaded but all I see is just a bunch of gibberish chatter. Does not really show any real news.

God I could probably come up with the same BS that it's going to Wii and get it on kotaku. Everybody might as well just chill till it's propertly anounced.

Also here is the news i was talking about at the start of my post.

I really don't know why this keeps coming up Kojima has already said that everything has been done using PS3 hardware and therefore will only run on PS3 hardware. To me its just a load of BS and fans pleading out to make it multiplatform

Everything I've heard has indicated that it'll be PS3-exclusive for at least a year.

Obviously it could be ported (in fact I'm 99% sure Kojima himself was quoted as saying that the 360 would be perfectly capable of running it, back in late 2005 or so), so it's not like it'll "only run on PS3", any more than Resident Evil 4 would only run on Gamecube.

It probably wakes up from its slumber every now and then, thanks to the fact that they [Konami/Kojima] never "shoot down" the possibilities of a 360 port being made.

And the other fact that developers such as Factor 5 has described porting something from PS3 -> 360 in a way that most of all makes it sound like it's free money for little to no effort, compared to porting the other way around.

Well apparantly the person that posted that blog entry I linked was on the phone with somebody in the know and decided to post the news. I had heard rumblings Konami was trying to pressure Kojima to bring MGS4 to the 360 since the PS3 is not a profitable system to develop for. I hear everything from " please do it" to " Do it or you're fired"

Either way I think the big cover up at destructiod pretty much confrims the non exclusiveness of MGS4.

over at dcemu they've pretty much debunked it, as its basically word for word the same as the original announcement from 2003 for the original xbox, all httas been changed is the game title, xbox to xbox 360, and ps2 to ps3..

I think it just proves that something is being covered up. The mere existence of a retraction could mean a lot of things. For one, maybe they were wrong and that's why the story has changed.

That is a completely different story than Destructoid, who got the news from a Konami rep and several MS employees. I think the article you're referring to saw this story and ran with it.

The guy who posted this has a good track record. He was the first to report rumors of a 120gig 360, as well as posting the halo 3 beta comming out in may.

Um, common sense for a second? It doesn't confirm shit. There are a bunch of other things it could suggest (not prove) - not least Destructoid wanting lots of free attention, which they've certainly received.

Speculation on an article retraction is completely pointless.

Poor framerate and overall a sloppy port, from what I remember

It is inevitable that in the future the game will see a XB360 port due to development costs, but it will be an exclusive for at least a year.
