Mum = What are you doing with that remote, Jimmy ?

Jimmy = err, I'm just shaking it to see if there was anything loose inside

The part about the dropped animation is true. Then again, even the Saturn version needed a RAM cart to run it properly with most of the animation intact, so perhaps you can't really blame Sony on that one. Then again, Metal Slug X on the PSX did a better job in regards to keeping most of the animation in, at the expense of crappier explosion effects.

Mr. Casual's picture is making me wonder if Nintendo is going to switch over to the "razor blades" method of making profits. They can sell the system for a low price, but include a really cheap controller that you will have to replace every couple of weeks for $20.

Nah. You're confusing them with Sony...

I got mad at a game and threw my PS2 controller down and even though I hear rattling on the inside it still works just like the day I got it.

All my third party Ps1 and Ps2 controllers broke within a year (without even throwing them!) however.

I used to have one of those cheap clear cased SNES controllers. One day whilst playing Street Fighter II (I forget which one, probably Turbo), I became so infuriated with Vega's cheating ways that I flung the controller out of disgust. The thing completely shattered almost like glass upon hitting the floor with such force...so much so that even the pcb inside split into several fragments.

From that day forward I have refrained from throwing controllers, especially in this day and age where controllers cost upwards of $30-$40 a pop.

I felt like swinging my Ps1 controller around like a battle Flail after I kept falling off of the Bird Colossus on Time Attack.

I said a string of things that would even make a sailor blush as well.

As far as third-party controllers, these days they're pure shite. Not worth half of the fiver most of them go for. Back in the day though, Honey Bee stuff was pretty good. I've got a SNES pad made by them which is certainly on a par with the official pad. Very floaty d-pad, great for twitch response games.

Never did suffer from the pad throwing syndrome some people get, not for lack of wanting to though. I just get too scared it'll break.

Then they should attach a wristband so that you won't drop/throw it while playing an intense game.

Well, there is nothing to say that they couldn't make a "power glove" version of the controller.
