According to kotaku, MGS4 will be released on June 12. Also there's a possibility that a MGS4 ps3 bundle (80 gig PS3, MGS4 and a Dualshock 3 controller) could be released at the same time. I really hope that the bundle info is real cause it would be the perfect reason to buy a PS3
June 12th isn't bad, since that is not long after my birthday, not to mention I wasn't expecting it until Fall.
I get the feeling that GTAIV will sell more PS3s that a MGS4 edition... But if the bundle goes for $399 plus MGS4 thats another story.
Well, they have a few months to fix the price, i think that by the time the game is released ps3 in general will be cheaper.
so basically, they've given a reason to hold off on ps3 purchases until june. How genius. Who would spend $499 on an 80 gig model now, if they can even find one, when they get a better overall package in a few months? Motorstorm and a horrible sixaxis, or MGS4 and a DS3. Hard choice there. Plus, it also shows that they will screw consumers by bundling the DS3 only in the 80 gig. It's also been reported that DS3 will sell separately for near $60...for a fucking controller. I bought my DS3 off ebay in january for that much. The Sixaxis is only $50, and I assume they'll keep throwing it in with the 40 gig, and drop it down to the separate price of $30 or something. Nice to not make it standard.
I still would like to see a slimmer PS3 and the old PS Logo if they drop a newer model. I sold my 60GB model on ebay the other week to focus on developing stuff on the 360 for the next few months. 2008 will be what fiscal 2007 was for the 360, especially with the look and sound of perfect being officially dead. Alot of people give flack for the lack of games on the PS3, exclusives maybe but MGS4 will really make up for it i believe. Warhawk and MK2 are my favorites for the system.
If they did a bundle I'd consider getting one. I was going to get a gaminc PC but I think thats impossible at the moment. Well, my price range would be impossible to afford. I might get tons of hours over the Spring and Summer though, so who knows.
Is it real? It doesnt looks that custom, not as much as the Halo X360 was. As far as I can see all it has is a kinda tacky Snake painted in the top.
Got the pic from the offical playstion blog Link I don't think there's any paint job I think it's a stock 80 Gig (Plain black) and that's just Snake's reflection form the artwork for the package.
it's an 80 gig ps3, with a $60 MGS4, and $55 DS3 bundled in. It's a far better deal than the 80 gig model bundled with the tech demo motorstorm and a sixaxis. It's a deal simply by what Sony has priced things at.
why wouldn't you just rent MGS4 and save $50. i wonder how the replay value on that game will be. i don't see any reason to go back and play the older ones that's for sure... well, maybe the first one.
