it'd be so worth it. i wonder how many of those cabs are still around in working order. i don't know how popular it was. that would be insane to have. i can't remember, did it have two screens in there as well??

I want to say that it had at least 3 screens in it.. It's been a while since I have used one of these, but that's what I remember...

Now that I think about it there is a sweet retro arcade about an hour from me that I have been meaning to check out(providing that it's still there). They may actually have this if my sisters description was correct.

That's the list price. Don't expect it to stay there, it is an auction ;-)

Some amazing items in that sale, wish the auction was televised.

I'd love to try on one of those suits of armor!

yeah, I read it after and forgot to edit my post.

I think this would be interesting to have on normal TV, at least some highlights. I watch a few auction type programms, usually about crap found in the attick and there quite watchable.

I heard there was a lawsuit in place so the auctions could not go ahead. Can't remember where I saw it now, the site doesn't seem to mention it.

Yeah, MJ's camp is suing Juliens to stop the auction. Apparently MJ gave Juliens permission to remove the stuff from Neverland, but not to list it forsale wihtout his approvial first (claiming some of the stuff is one-of-a-kind and not replaceable). They've supposedly returned some things already at his request, and were under the impression the rest was good to go (MJ's manager approved the sale of everything...).

I suspect the auction will still go on, but somethings might be removed.

I'm sure this stuff is going to go for alot more than it's worth, just for the fact that he owned it. I wouldn't waste my time bidding.

Did anyone notice the giant Windows 98 error popup on popstar pinball at page 12?

It looks like the Virtual Boy kiosk is one of the few items to have bids already. Considering it costs $25 to even register to bid, I suspect this item is going to go for a ton of money. There might be a few bargains on more common stuff, but you're right that the notoriety of the former owner is probably going to boost the price on even the junk items.

What fascinated me about MJ's belongings, besides the few rare demo kiosk store displays, was how common many of his non video game items were. For such a huge disney fan he had no original cells only reproductions which anyone who went to disneyland or to a disney store could have purchased.

I think in terms of rare items he lucked out with the virtual boy kiosks and the other store display items. As a collector he didn't seem that selective or knowledgeable on rare items.

Looks like the auction is officially off. Michael Jackson's attorneys just reached a deal with Julien's and all the items will be going back to him. They are going to continue to run an exhibition which you can still go to for the next ten days for $20 per person at the auction site in Beverly Hills with some of the proceeds going to charity. The Julien's site has been partially updated with this info, although there are still references to the auction on certain pages. Oh well, it was fun to imagine getting a bargain on some of these items. Still would have been interesting to find out what all the arcade and video game stuff went for.

Really? I know that he wanted to stop it, but I didn't think that would happen. I only just saw on the news here (well, a 5 minute bulletin) that it was on.

Here's the weird thing... some sites say it was announced an hour ago, some say it was announced on the 12th (that site reported it yesterday). And even weirder, the hearing on the 3rd ruled that the auction would go ahead, although the hearing for the injunction would be held on the 15th. That's tomorrow in California!

Here in Los Angeles, they reported that it is off on the LA Times website and the local news less than an hour ago. Also, if you go to the Julien's site now, they removed the registration and all it talks about is the $20 to see the exhibition. There is some text about the auction mixed in on some of the pages, but most of the auction references have been removed. It's pretty clear that it's officially off.
