Yes yall do make good points, but when im saying the core doesn't have a HDD with it, its seems that Microsoft is just being hippocrates, because there major campaign slogan was something along the lines of "Bringing video games into the hard drive era" It just seems kinda stupid to me, and i thought you could move the PS2, and not have the games scratched, then again I might be mistaken (again)

When they say HD era I think they mean high definition. I could be wrong though.

Hey, no problem. The cool thing about this board is there really aren't many personal attacks. It's all about the games, and it's all about the facts. I'll be perfectly honest, i'm pretty pissed off that there is a core system out there with no hard drive. So i understand where you're comming from.

And, the HD in the adds meant High Definition, as developers aren't allowed to put out games that don't support high def.

Hehe, As other stated. They said & ment HD era (High Def) not HDD (Hard Disk Drive).

Actualy we should all be happy we got a HDD on the 360 in the first place. The original plans were to scrap the HDD all together (I have inside src who had early alpha kits).

How was that going to work. Didn't Allard say that the money maker would be online game downloads and other downloadable goodies. Plus were they planning on having all that customer game data on the xobx servers?

I dont know, but i talked to a programmer for the 360 and he told me the worst part was the fact that they went with the name 360, instead of Xenon

No idea. All I was told was that originaly they were planning not to have a HDD included at all and pretty much every developer studio went up in arms over it.

In its current state it still heavly hurts developers since many used the xbox hdd for data cashing and now you can't do that by default since you have to assume the gamer doesn't have the HDD (due to the damn core unit).

I'll put it this way, microsoft went around asking dev houses if they would rather have more memory, or a hard drive. That's what made the dev houses go nuts. "What do you mean, pick one?" wasn't this supposed to be the "Next-Gen" system? Microsoft eventually compramised with the two package system, but all units have the 512, so you can see who won.
