For the last week or so Microsoft have heavily (and I mean very heavily for a game add) been advertising the new RPG Tales of Vesper and are even doing a special bundle! What could have brought on this sudden urge to get the public interested again? Put it this way, I've seen the Tales of Vesper add more times in the last week than all other game adds put together. I was looking forward to getting this, I always enjoyed the Tales games because of the action RPG gameplay. Same with Star Ocean.
Well, I've only played a handful of the games. Tales of Phantasia, IMO, was one of the best games on the SNES. Second only to Star Ocean. It was amazing what Star Ocean was able to pull off with its graphics engine.
Do you think its going to make a difference? Also, isn't Tales of Vesperia out in Japan right now? Did Famitsu ever score it? If so, what did it get? Its odd to me that the PS3 is taking the path of the generic FPS this year whereas the Xbox360 is taking the path of the JRPG, and yet no one in Japan gives a shit, and they keep buying PS3s for God only knows what reason. Oh well. Long as I get Ketsui X and a new Treasure shmup out of it I'm cool.
Well it does not look as bad as with the first Xbox ^_^ Currently there are about 200 X360 games in Japan fighting a PS3-lineup of not more than half of it. The PS3 may still be much better than the X360 in numbers, but the market has changed.
Yeah, even now the 360 still gets decent shelf space in pretty much all game store unlike what the XBOX ever did. I guess the Japanese are slowly buying the 360. As for the PS3, well what can I say. It's like a BMW. No matter what shit they put out people will still buy it because of the name. NOTE: I'm not saying EVERYTHING BMW or PlayStation related is shit but you get me point. Yakumo
I thought the demo was kind of boring. It reminded me of the Gamecube one with stupider charectars, but I dunno. Love Lost Oddysey though.
I personally love the roadster's industrial yet classic look. I couldn't care less for other's views when it comes to something as personal as a car.
I would fucking kill for an announcement of Lost Odyssey 2. And I agree, I don't get why everyone goes nuts about these "non-turn-based" JRPGs. I mean shit, at the end of the day, Eternal Sonata was still turn-based, it just had a lot of walking and button mashing mixed in to waste time (and was a shite game anyways). But Lost Odyssey... Its a shame LO sold like shit in Japan though (but oddly enough, has sold around 800K worldwide to date, it did fairly well in the US and Europe).
I'm loving Lost Oddyssey. Best RPG I've played in years. Jansem is pretty funny. I don't think this will be good...Tales of Symphonia was actually pretty good if you got into it, but this seriously plays like the same thing.
Yeah. The demo for Tales put me to sleep almost. I just hope MS demands a sequel for LO despite it not selling well in Japan. It sold well everywhere else... so... They'll probably just stick with Blue Dragon since its the best selling 360 game in Japan.
All the markets are "sheep" based ... exagerating USA -- maddens, gta's and generic fps in x360 land Japan -- rpgs, date sims, etc (now only wii and handhelds really, well wii and ds is world-based xdd) Europe -- Fifa's, pros and Playstation lands Well as you can see, you can set topics for every market easilly. I don't think that any market are better than other, are different tastes.
