Microsoft haven't given up in Japan just yet

    But which of these 3 markets is more fickle with brand loyalty?

    OMG Atari (Market crash) OMG Games suckz, OMG NES, OMG Genesis, OMG SNES, OMG PS1 OMG PS2 OMG 360, OMG Wii

    That seems to be the pattern in the US. And No Console maker in any part of the world has won 3 console cycles in a row.

    Gameboy, Gamboy Advance, Nintendo DS is a good run. :p

    handheld well, until the PSP it's really been Nintendo and ONLY Nintendo.

    Even then I have Both A PSP and DS

    I could have sworn I've heard Yakumo say it as well. You might as well ask him the same thing...

    The problem with broad sweeping statements, even by people who have spent 10+ years in a given place, is that the validity of their statement really depends on their exposure to a wide variety of people. Most people, even those that live in the large cities, don't really have the background to do so.

    People who's only exposure to Japan are web forums definitely shouldn't be making such claims.

    Then there's the language/cultural barrier which is a whole new can of worms.
