Vista 32 SP1 lets you use 4GB but if you have say, a 512mb video card, 512 will be taken from the 4GB total....at least, in my experience.

Well, I just put in an HD 2400 XT (256MB) upgrading from onboard (I'm learning to use Poser 7 on the 64-bit install). I think my mobo is limiting the memory as even in 64-bit Vista I end up with the same amout available (~3570MB)...and since it's an OEM only board, BIOS upgrades are dictated by the comp manufacturer (HP).

I'm sure that has nothing to do w/ the operating system either.

I have 88 tabs open in Firefox 3.0 and it takes up 350MB of RAM.

With roughly that same number open in FF2.0, it took TWICE as much RAM.

I say this is a marked improvement.

Also, FF wins for all the extensions...
and how about being able to drag hyperlinks and pictures around?
(shown here, dragged from EvilWays' post.)

Leave it running overnight...see if it leeches more. That's the problem i have with FF2 right now. I'm thinking it's any "dynamic" pages (such as gmail and youtube) I leave open that doesn't help, but who knows.

    We doooooo! :110:

But yeah, it acts up from time to time + I'm not the person who operates Firefox with 10+ tabs open.

Define "normal conditions"...and I'll bet it doesn't apply to everyone.

I leave FF open with however many tabs since I browse before going to work and I tend to forget what I was (going to) look at when I get back home.

I'll have to check out FF3. A new Opera came out and I haven't messed with that either....next week I'll be on a new computer though!

Be warned: you will either like the new "AwesomeBar" or you will want to uninstall the browser...

To be honest, I am really getting tired of the "our software knows what you want to do better than you do" attitude that the Mozilla developers are displaying in response to legitimate usability complaints.

FF3 is a massive improvement on memory from FF2, I've got 6 tabs open and adblock and chatzilla running and its only using 71mb.

People, the tuning program to FireFox is called Firetune, and it can be gotten here

    http://www.klitetools.com/

I am not really fond of that forum, but that has nothing to do with the site. Since the site is an awesome freeware site, which means no spyware, adware or any motherfucking shit like that.
