Anyone happen to get this to run in Hardware mode in reasonable FPS? It runs at less than 10. Tried nGlide, changed nothing. There's also text distortion for some reason no matter what resolution.
It's a software design flaw within Windows 10. In order to play this within Windows 10, you'll need to a use a Virtual Machine running Windows 7. XP will not accelerate 3D, however support for 3D Hardware Acceleration in Windows 7 works brilliantly. Only issues I have noticed is that you can't run the game at high resolutions past 1024x768, and smoke doesn't render. Apart from that, game runs very smoothly in Hardware (T&L).
I used to play the crap out of this game and the second one. I seriously doubt I can find my discs now though..
Yeah that's probably what I'll do, I kind of have an urge to play it again. Especially the second one, damn I spent way too much time driving around that city.
Did you adjust the settings accordingly? While I know the wrapper is hardware dependent, some games will be a bit jerky since it requires some decent hardware, I know that adjusting the video memory in the video card setting can affect the FPS to some degree. Happened when I used it for Splinter Cell where it locked to 30 FPS until I upped the VRAM.
