You mean "being sold at $30 per copy"

I don't have any interest in playing this so I have only been paying half attention but I am pretty sure the ROM was dumped and you don't have to buy a cart to download the rom.

And it's been hacked to promote the website. Lame.

You either give freely or it's just a publicity stunt. I'm sure it'll be stripped out in no time. I don't bother with marking releases, so pointless.

I agree with Adam, why rant when it's free.

Because it could have been done differently, for the same money (or even less). But since the stunt was already started, the potential donators had two choices - either donate for this, or not donate (and potentially not see the game) at all.

Adam, you don't bother with ROMs, so you wouldn't know the difference anyway :p

Well you are right I don't. I don't own an emulator or play anything but originals. Personally I could care less either way but I count the people who care about this project as friends.

So what. There are many ways you can do things. You were free to do things anyway you wanted and so are they. I enjoy the NA website and since I could care less about the ROM so in my eyes any promotion was the ONLY good thing to come from this. In any event, I do believe they did this so copies wouldn't be pased off as originals on eBay.

When you are begging for food and get a bag a free food with a "brought to you by Walmart" stamp on the side the food is sill just as good and still just as free. Sure someone paid to see this done but it wasn't anyone who is complaining here.

Come on with the you didn't donate card. I've donated to many other people's donation drives over the years, and this kind of stuff happened (usually without consent, sometimes without even telling the donators). I just missed this one is all.

And I'm not really complaining, just saying it could have done different and I would have liked it better then personally.

And your comparison to walmart is a false analogy. I'd compare this to donating art to a museum and stamping the art pieces with a company logo or something.

Esp when they so accurately display the offense....I'm sure the Nintendo Age logos cover the same percentage of gameplay as this picture above. What is even worse is to compare Mike Tyson Intergalactic Punch with the Mona Lisa. LOL. I think a bag of food given to homeless is a better example.

As I said I won't play this or any other ROM anyway but for those that would like to play these games attacking anyone who donates is self defeating.

It's released. I think that's good enough. So there's a logo or something added and a recent year on the title screen, so what. It's not the exact same data as the original ROM had anymore, but what does that matter? Not like that new data somehow affected anything in anyones life that there's a huge difference in how this thing is of any worth at all. if you want this game, it's there now. Free rom too. Why are people so picky when it comes to "preservation" when little things like data you never would care about in your whole life anyway gets slightly altered, yet leaves the WHOLE game unaffected anyways?

There's better things to worry about. :/

Just because the game is shit, it doesn't make it right. Slapping your name on somebody else's game is cheesy. Even worse is selling "reproductions" of it. That's just straight up bootlegging/piracy.

"Reproduction." Now theres a term I loathe. Sugar coating it doesn't make it any less illegal.

I agree. Whoever releasing has the right to release it anyway that they see fit. Complaining about this at all is totally selfish since they are still releasing it.

Yeah but, if there isn't repros doesn't that mean you can't play it on a NES or whatever?

Unless I'm misunderstanding something I thought it was kind of cool you can buy a repro of it or get the rom. I dunno. It is kind of funky stamping your name on it but is it really obtrusive? Is it just on the repros? I don't see it being a big deal if it's just on the repros but it is kind of goofy. They could just stick there name on the cartridge after all.
