Biofuels are make-believe, most of the time it requires more energy to make the crops than the one you'll get from the fuel itself, specially if the crop is edible. However, it could work with biomass, since thats garbage we already have (yard trimmings, used cooking oil, etc...) but it wont replace oil, is just a stop-gap measure, and an alternative in certain areas at best. Hydroelectric, take a look at china's dust storms... Eolic, again it depends on the amount of wind you get, and some areas get none most of the time. Solar is by far the best option, and there some interesting breakthroughs on the way, like a solar paint that turns any surface into a solar panel.
