Hey guys. I am installing a modbo 4.0 chip into a NTSC (USA) V14 GH-040-12 PS2 slim. The only diagram I can find for this board is for the modbo 760, http://sksapps.com/diagrams/ps2/Modbo745-760/V14-GH040-12.jpg

Is the cx point the same as the Z point? Are all the other points going to be the same, letter wise?

I've tried hooking up the cx point to the Z point and also a cx point that looked like it goes to the same point as other boards but with no success. This was a bitch of an install especially with the A, B, G, H, I points, so if cx=Z then I am guessing I will need to redo these soldering points.

Also as a note, I am installing this to play japanese games while keeping my consoles to a minimum... and not to play bootleg games.

I'm pretty sure the CX point is like this:

Thanks. My board is slightly different in that region, but that is the cx point I tried to use and it didn't work. Maybe I just need to resolder A, B, G, H and I. My modbo 4.0 also didn't come with an F pad. I assume that would be because I am NTSC and not PAL.

I have the 1.93 version and got it from what I believe to be a reputable site (eurasia). I'd post the site but it seems my posts aren't being approved by the moderators. Is the 760 and the modbo 4 that different? It seems a lot of the soldering spots are very similar.

I looked at my photos and saw that my slim is also a GH-040-12 model (NTSC). I installed a Modbo 4 like the diagram I posted earlier, also without the "F" pad(might have used different GND/+V location). If i remember correctly all points are the same as a Matrix Infinity diagram except that the Modbo also requires the "CX" point for external oscillator.

Thanks bax. Just got it to work. That was the correct cx. This was a tough mod on the g, h, I, a, and b. I checked continuity to the chip through these soldering spots and found the bad joint. Makes me think I should have a better magnifying glass

I modded my PStwo v14 with a gh-037-02 board yesterday. I had the same problem, none of the v14 diagrams were correct. I had to mix three different ones to install it. But it's working perfectly now. :)
