Personally, I think we should all boycot the Vita, simply because the name is so stupid. Vita? Reminds me of Vitamins for some reason. From here on out, I shall call it the Vitamin. Sony deserves to be flogged for its infamous security breach fiasco, and not buying the Vitamin when it comes out.

I'm also not advocating that anyone go out and buy a 3DS at the moment either, but I would buy one over the Vitamin for the reasons stated above.

    Thank you, that is all.

The only reason I'm probably not buying a PSV is because the PSP had very few games on it that interested me. I had a PSP actually, but I wasn't playing it hardly at all, so I decided to sell it. It's great for emulation, I'll give it that, but to me it wasn't worth it just for that. The PS3 is basically the same situation, but without emulation. The major difference is that the PS3 is also a great Blu-ray, DVD, and Netflix player.

Honestly, I love Sony products. At least, old Sony products. I think the quality has declined a bit in recent years. Actually, I still think their hardware is decent, but the lack of software is an issue.

I think the price drop will make it a success, though maybe not of the kind Nintendo is used to having on the handheld front. I don't find the hardware very attractive. It's too similar to the DS and was way overpriced at $250. (Not bad at the new price point, though.) A higher resolution screen, a more powerful GPU/CPU would have been nice. It's hard to get excited about upcoming software when the screenshots seem so underwhelming. I won't call the 3D a gimmick the way other people have, but I need more to sell me on a system.

I'll probably spring for one when 3D Land hits.

What's funny is that N has said they're working on non-3D games for it... thus negating the point of it being a "3D"S. I would have have figured everything at least 1st party would be 3D and if you didn't like it, then you could turn the slider off.

That being said Vita is a day 1 purchase for me, especially if they release a UMD transfer pack for it, not that I expect them to do it even though they're floating the idea again *coughcouchPSPGOcoughcough*

UMD transfer would be amazing, but I highly doubt they'd ever do it. But it would sure make the Vita about 1000x more appealing to existing PSP owners.

3DS is still a decently powerful system, right? Are the graphics as good as the initial "gameplay" demos from pre-release?

Based on my brief play sessions, I'd say it's similar to an original Xbox in terms of visuals and capability.

The Vitamin? Anyone's guess at this point. Sony does like to exaggerate a lot, so who knows.

    Except for some...;-)

As long as you don't buy into the BS hype not from sony (ie it's as powerful as ps3 that came from some press/dev), then Id say they've been under selling it in some departments.

Pilotwings Resort looks good enough to be a Wii game IMO.

But some games (RE3D, DoA:D) suffer from weird resolution problems in some of their backgrounds.

I haven't played either, but that's probably just an overblown dof effect.

I'm really enjoying DOA:D, up to now it's the only game I've got that I can play with the 3D up full all the time and it plays like a dream, much better than SSFIV:3D

The thing that annoys me about DOA:D is that the framerate is halved when you turn on the 3D. I think it actually looks better with the 3D off, because it plays at 60fps. It looks almost like DOA4.

In other news, Nintendo released the first 10 free games for the Ambassador program. I haven't looked at the eShop in a while, but when I tried to download them there wasn't a quick easy way to get them. You have to go to Settings/Other options, then Your Downloads, then download them one by one. A bit of a pain, but whatever.

Anyway, they're all NES games, and they look really nice on the 3DS's screen. Unlike DS games, they're not scaled at all - instead they're displayed at their native resolution. They play just like their NES counterparts, and it's a decent lineup. You should check it out if you haven't done so already.
