More game move sacrilege

I went to see the new 007 movie tonight (Yeah, I know it came out in the west ages ago) and what a great movie it was but this post isn't about 007 but the shocking trailer that was shown before.

It started with the Capcom logo. Ah, another Bio Hazard I thought but no. There was no signs of zombies. All that was shown was some Chinese woman. In the back of my head I was thinking as a joke it would be a Chun-li movie. SHIT! I was right. Street Fighter, The Chun-li Legend. For fucks sake, isn't there anything those idiots in hollywood won't touch? Needless to say the movie looks like another piss poor game cash in.

That's the problem. Because idiots will pay to see such crap they'll continue to make more :cry: So far it's only the Bio Hazard movies (apart from the first) that seem any decent. Everything else based upon a game is mediocre to God dam awful.

Saw the trailer as well (went to see Yes Man).

I think from all movies based on games, only Silent Hill and Max Payne are decent. Some days ago, House of the Dead 2 was on Cinemax. I don't know why but i ended up watching. All i can say is WTF!

I hope they never think about a Killzone movie. If they do, they problem kill the art style and cast some stupid actor to be the "hero".

 

i hear the next Capcom movie, Lost Planet, is going to have a budget of about $200 million. That's like silly money. Summer blockbuster money. For an okay selling game.

 

The first biohazard movie was the best its the others that were crap. The first one at least tries to get elements of the game in there. It's still cheesy but bless em for trying

I really think they should stop trying to make movis based off videogames they plainly just dont work 90% of the time.

 

I agree with you on Silent Hill, but Max Payne was horrible.

 

yeah, i fell asleep within the first half hour of Max Payne. really disappointing. i don't understand why they don't just make the game into a movie. Max Payne's story was good enough by itself. it still wasn't as bad as Super Mario Bros. :lol: i swear that movie has THE WORST ending of all time. :banghead:

Well, i never said it was good. I wrote "decent" because at least they tried to achieve that dark noir style. But like i said, that's hollywood.

 

So far the only VG movies I'd even consider passible are Silent Hill, Advent Children, and Hitman. I thought Resident Evil sucked massively compared to the original draft and only went downhill from there.

More shit. It looks like the millions of movies before it. Poor acting on wires with a piss poor story that resembles as much as the animation as a fish wearing a suit.
