I'm pretty sure there is an actual timeline that sorts all the games out.....but they are in a messed up order.....plus you do realise there was no link between Zelda one and Zelda 2 on the NES? (different Links/Zelda's) and then between them and LttP? Sorry, I just dislike it when people say OoT was the first one to break the linkage and consistancy in the storyline....
Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link takes place after Legend Of Zelda. Ganon is defeated, but Princess Zelda has mysteriously fallen under a spell and now sleeps, while Ganon's minions still roam the land in search of the blood of Link, the last key to bringing Ganon back to like. Link To The Past, while on a decidedly less stable canonical platform, takes place before the Legend Of Zelda, and detail's Link's first meeting with Zelda and Ganon's rise to power. This was a bit of a weak backstory, but as there really wasn't much story period in Legend Of Zelda, it was doable. Ocarina falls apart because plot points (Link being informed he is the Hero, meeting Zelda, rescuing her, etc.) already covered definately in Link To The Past and less clearly so in Legend Of Zelda are rehashed in a completely different way. I don't think I need to even start on the "Ganon takes the Triforce to become the greatest bad person ever and Link must regain it to save the world" that was not only reused, but the timeline of events was changed (we see Ganon's transformation after obtaining the Triforce, instead of the other games where Ganon's evil has had time to fester on its own.) Zelda I and II are most definately consistent in their relations, Link To The Past takes some effort (it works best if thought of as a re-imagining of Legend Of Zelda), but Ocarina is where I can't for the life of me attach a connection to the other stories without making a totally ridiculous imaginative stretch involving time paradoxes, accelerated tectonic movement, and genetic mutations inherant on the quantam level. And then there's beach bum Link in Wind Waker...
Think it's becoming time for me to buy the gamecube afterall Hope it comes in a package Gamecube+controller+Zelda
No Zelda Bundles as of now, but $99 can get you a platinum Cube bundled with either Mario Kart or Metroid Prime, so really, why haven't you bought one yet?
I've got a 100 dollar bill here doing nothing that I can use in Hard Off. I may just treat myself to that black game cube they have or should I get the crystal limited edition Xbox? Both are 8000 yen complete with box, leads, pads etc. What do you guys think is the best choice? I really think Bio Hazard 4 looks good too Yakumo
if you dislike fps (on console or not) and don't want to pay for xbox live either, then definitivly go for the cube, it's like the only good things in favor of the xbox. Still it's an atractive deal for a collector though... Ah, nevermind. go for the cube :-D
