These are few and far between, in my experience. The only one that springs to mind is Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay. Can anyone think of any others? (Films based on games - Street Fighter, Tomb Raider etc - don't count.)
Magic Knight Rayearth (Saturn) if you want to get into anime. Magical Taruruto-kun for the Mega Drive as well, although the show isn't half bad for a weird kid's show.
No way....seriously? I rented that game as a kid (Genesis) and couldn't figure what the fuck I was suppose to do. I think I rented it twice and still had no idea. Found out YEARS later. I want that! The US one anyway. Theres a Ronald Mcdonald game on Geneis I rented as a kid that had fucking awesome music and was a good game to boot. I think it was by Treasure. Chronicles of Riddick is another one.
I 2nd Rayearth. Fantastic RPG that I've finished twice. Now there's not many RPGs I'd bother playing over again. Yakumo
The icing on the cupcake w/ Rayearth is that it was a 1st generation game. So good. I need to play through it again. I also need time to do so. Some of the voice acting is annoying, but it's such a top game.
Aladdin for the Genesis!!! The game is as awesome as the movie, they even used the original cel animations from the movie!
Too right. rayearth even though a first Gen Saturn game still impresses even today. It's just so polished for an early title. If you think the Japanese voice acting can be off putting just wait until you try the US version. Shit, it was that bad I couldn't bare to play it and went back to completing the Japanese version for a 2nd time. Yakumo
The Genesis version is completely different, it's a pretty bad platformer, while the SNES version is an awesome beat-em-up that reminds me a lot of Final Fight. Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (arcade version): I didn't even know it was based on a movie when I first played this. The Genesis one is just repetitive as hell, nice music though.
It helps that the movie was pretty bad, especially compared to the first one :110: Still, BR has a nice amount of variety for a beat-em-up, even if all the levels aren't that well designed, which makes it better than the average licensed 90s brawler.
indeed the 1st was uber awesome, but the 2nd was still pretty good. also from the choosen actors etc. and compared to the following two batmans, this one was a fucking houly work.
The RoboCop 3 Amiga game was really cool for its time, being done fully in 3D, and certainly better than the watered down crapfest of a movie. Amiga Longplay [031] Robocop 3
OHHHH shit. I had Batman Returns mixed up with Batman Forever! Okay, but NOW I'm going to have to say... Seriously? Batman Returns was an awesome fucking movie!
