I don't think it was better than the movie, but LOTR: Two Towers was actually A LOT better than most movie spin off games.
Wow! I thought I was alone in this sentiment. I liked Alien 3 a lot too, and almost nobody does. I don't know if the Capcom Disney games count for this thread - but TaleSpin on NES was awesome beyond words even if I hated the TV show as a kid. Also, both Rescue Rangers games, now that I think of it.
And for that matter, Ducktales and Darkwing Duck on NES were really good, although based on TV shows and not movies.
Already mentioned in the very first post ;-) Tron the arcade game was definitely better than the movie, especially the legendary light cycle section.
Tron was OK I guess, but the game is better and made more money than the movie too. The movie was way ahead of its time when it comes to special effects though, and IIRC it was denied an Oscar nomination because using computers to do special effects was "cheating" or something like that
Um, thanks for mentioning that game, but I don't even know what to say to that. Perhaps: Read the first post? I actually just finished playing the new version, and it really is fucking great. Dark Athena sucks a donkey's dick, however. It's still worth picking up the game just for Butcher Bay, though. The game is looong and excellent.
Someone told me Ghostbusters for Genesis is really good...anyone confirm? I didn't even know it was on Genesis.
Isn't that Wolverine movie terrible anyway? That was released in Europe too as New Ghostbusters 2 (I assume you're referring to that at least since the other Ghostbusters 2 is crap). A fun game, but not better than the movie really..although this topic is more like "Movie spin-off games that are actually good", I'm not entirely opposed to that, since they're relatively rare too.
yeah that one And i firmly stand by the naruto games. Specifically Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 for the Gamecube. SUCH a fun fighter. and actually balanced too.
