Has anyone ever heard of this guy at all? I know it`s a long shot Supposed to have worked on Sonic 3D - BLAST
Has this anything to do with the guy at Sega Xtreme who claims to have a prototype build of Sonic 3D with "Satu" hand-written on the disc? If so, could it be possible that he's actually read the name incorrectly? Without the game or credit details in front of me I can't be sure, but wasn't the producer Kats SATO?
Not hand written.......all printed......... http://img345.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sonic3dblast4jk.jpg
There might have been a Mr. Satu working on that game, though Sonic 3D was developed by Travellers' Tales - only the bonus stages were coded by Sonic Team, so perhaps this mystery person has a copy of the game from his involvement with these or as some kind of supervisor? Again, I can't be sure without a copy of the game or credit documentation in front of me, but it's likely that the disc is legitimate. I guess we just need concrete details from someone more in the know...
I saw that disc on eBay but couldn't be bothered bidding on it - I didn't think it was interesting enough but who knows hehe maybe it's something special, but maybe not It does kind of remind me of budget/OEM crappy PC game label design though
hahahahaha !! I can't believe how dumb these guys are !!! Mr. Satu is one of the many labels used by Saturn silver pirates from Hong Kong. Boy, I'm having a good laugh at this !! I had loads and in fact may still have some floating around. I remember FIST was also the same label. Yakumo
Well, our friend in the East has come to the aid of his Assembler comrades with his immense knowledge! Thanks, Yakumo! Now all I can do is join you in feeling sorry for anybody that has fallen for this rather hilarious episode - well, at least it is now that I have learned the true identity of this "prototype" disc...
I just had a look through the remaining of my Back ups ( I have thrown over 300 away in the last two years once I bought the original) and sadly have no Mr. Satu discs left but I can 100% confirm that the disc shown is just a Hong Kong silver of Sonic 3D Flikies Island. Nothing more. Yakumo
I figured that it was a pirate (the disc design gave that away, see the discussion on UK:R where he posted it first..seems he was busy) but does it actually play on an unmodded Saturn then?
Hi, The auction is here: Ebay thread please. As Yakumo says that disc is only a HK silver. About 7 years ago I saw a lot of them, all with those peculiar labels, maybe I have some at home.
When its a conversational topic like this one and not showing something personally for sale where is the problem in showing an ebay link? Are the mods just looking at the links and not the content of the topic? Its at the detrement of the topics to fragment the contents in two areas.
No its not over (not for 8 days). Had it been over then yes it would of been left. Any live links will be deleted. Also auction links harm the topic more then help it. Come few months and there will be an auction link that has no information as its been taken down. If people copy the information from the auction over to a thread it will be here for as long as the thread is. Links arent needed.
It's like the silver disc "M2" group that did playstation pirate games. someone paid good money for essentially a pressed disc of a CDR.
