It this happen to anyone else with the stereo mod, when I connect the RF or the original mono composite cable the sound comes normal and loud, but when I connect the stereo it sound a lot lower I can rise up the volume to maximum on the TV and sound like its on 30% of the volume. It does not sound out loud like in mono. I tried on different lcd tv and on some of the tvs it even sound lower at full vol. I can barely hear it.

i tapped my sound from the actual headphone jack on the front of the mk1 ands its loud and clear, maybe try better wire? i used wire from PC power supply molex connector cables it worked really well.

I use cable 22 awg and tapped the cables from the sound chip on pin number 1 and 8, you are suggesting that I take the sound from the ribbon that goes to the phone jack, well not the ribbon but the solder point below.

Thats why then, if you took the audo from the chip directly, output from the pins on the chip is not amplified. so will give you very low output volume unless you put it through a simple amp circuit.. but thats over-complicated and means fittin more parts in the case

i took my audio left and audio right directly from the left and right pins of the headphone jack itself although you can take it from the pins for the cable that connects it as this is also after the audio has been amplified by the megadrive/genesis.

    hope that helps

thanks I'll change them, but after that I have to control the volume with the level on the genesis right.

You can tap in to the audio directly from the sony chip check on the datasheet.

not really but you can, the slider will control the volume but you can just leave it set, people recommend around 7-8. i've actually accidentally kinda em broken my volume slider when i 1st opened the case (think previous owner must have glued slider nib on at one point) so my volume i assume is always max and just controlled by the tv / whatever audio equipment its hooked up to. regardless its clean clear and nice and loud.

Bart that's the way I have it, directly from the sony chip on pins 1 and 8, but the sound is too low and I like it loud to feel the noise hahaha.

Looks very slick! Gotta love the colour scheme. :encouragement:
Yeah I agree on the detail that making the "16-bit" text red too would make it really pop!

What kind of paint and preparation do you do on plastic to get this kind of finish?
Actually NM, a few searches on the site gave me all the info...
    :very_drunk:

    Again, a fine looking Genesis/MD

for the logos I use a font I found long ago and go to a vinyl sticker store and and tell the guy to make them. I still have the page where I download the font if you want it.
