While unpacking all my stuff to put away in the new house I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a photo of my Mega Drive collection. Basically I only buy MD games that I enjoy unlike with Saturn were I'm trying to obtain a full set. All together If you look closely they're all arranged in company order. I'm kind of sad like that  SEGA TITLES Magical Hat Flying Turbo Adventure GunStar Heoes (Yeah, I know it's by Treasure but for some reason I put it with Sega since they released it) Mega CD RAM Cartridge Sega Game Library Bare Knuckle Bare Knuckle II Bare Knuckle III Virtual Racing Mystic Defender Shadow Dancer The Super Shinobi The Super Shinobi II DATA EAST TITLES Midnight Resistance Crude Buster (Two Crude Dudes) TAITO TITLES Rainbow Islands The New Zealand Story ASMIK TITLES Ringside Angel Verytex VIC TOKAI TITLES Battle Mania Battle Mania 2 KONAMI TITLE Rocket Knight Adventures NAMCO TITLES Burning Force Marvel Land Rolling Thunder 2 Splatter House Part III Phelios TELENET TITLES (Wolf Team, Laser Soft, Riot, Reno) Arcus Odyssey El Viento Axis FZ Granada Vapor Trail Valis Valis III Valis SD Gaiares TECHNOSOFT TITLES Elemental Master Devil Crash MD Thunder Force II Thunder Force III Thunder Force IV NCS MISAYA TITLES Gynoug Hellfire Assault Suit Leynos Devil Hunter Yoko Star Cruiser GAME ARTS TITLE Alisia Dragoon KYUGO TITLE Super Airwolf (Nothing like their superior arcade game) WAS TITLE Twinkle Tale VIRGIN ENT' TITLE Aladdin VISCO TITLE Wardner No Mori KANEKO TITLE Aero Blasters SUNSOFT TITLES Super Fantasy Zone Batman Here's a few nice close up shots. very dito but anyway, a nice assortement but where is contra, vampire killer, eliminate down etc.? ;-)
I did have more than that at one point. I sold them though in favour of buying mint copies at a later date (All the above games are mint) or because they weren't very good. I'm not buying Contra or Vampire Killer on the Mega Drive because I don't feel they're worth the stupidly high prices they go for in Japan. The same goes for Eliminate Down. It's a very nice shooter but worth the price if I'm not a collector of MD games? Hmm..... Glay Lancer is another I want but 8000 plus yen? What's crazy is that I sold a mint copy of that a few years ago thinking I could get another with ease, then up goes the price Other Mega Drive games I'd like but don't own due to the prices they go for are Runark, Kabuki Warriors (Recently got a multi bootleg with both of them on it), Snow Bros, Flash Back and Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles. Yakumo
Aladdin is an awesome game. One of the best movie based games ever. I played it a ton as a kid. You've got an awesome mint collection.
some nice games there Yakumo, battle mania 2 is one i've been after for ages...now that is expensive to buy.
That's great Yakumo! Wardner no Mori Special is one of my favorite Mega Drive games but I think none of my friends liked it. Great collection! ^_^
If are not pursuaded my the game itself, why don't you just buy it for the cover? Attack of the drippy space-twat
Yes, it is. Aladdin was one of those games that really did show you what you could get out of a Mega Drive. Fantastic animation and easily the best up to that time, great audio and very good use of the limited colour pallet. So good in fact that it looked better than Capcom's effort on the SFC. I guess you're right. I sort of think a collector as a person who'll buy complete crap as well as the good titles. A bit like me and the Saturn. h: I've never noticed that before h: Just goes to show what you can find if you take a close look  Yakumo
Great collection (you should get Dynamite Headdy too, it's awesome and way underrated), yet another console where Japanese boxart is superior. BTW, how many Saturn games are still missing from your collection? Every time I look at your site, I think you must have just about all of them
I am sorry that was the wrong answer as Panarama Cotton came in a normal sized box, well thanks for playing. Anyway Yakumo why no Puyo Puyo, Tatsujin, Insector X to name three games that you should have and even a minty copy should be no more then Y1000 if that... I have three copies of Contra as I forgot I had it (twice....)
I had Dynamite Heddy but sold it because the instruction booklet was tatty (You can see it on my site) but I will get it again some day. As for Saturn I'm about 1300 titles now so about 200 left? Yes, that's true. I wonder why they did that? Puyo Puyo on the Mega Drive has F*ing awful audio so I own the Super Famicom version which is far nicer on the ears. Tatsujin and Insector X I did own (Both on my site) but sold both. Tatsujin I'll buy again in mint condition but Insector X wasn't really that good IMO to be honest. Yakumo
One would assume they ran out of Famicom boxes... That's sacrilege that is, yes the voices aren't as perfect as the Super Famicom version but still it's still the original version using arcade code and the music sounds exactly like the arcade (I should know I have the arcade board). You should have the Megadrive version to show your love for Sega. Tatsujin should be on any megadrive owners list. I like Insector X it does have a nice charm about it. For example I personally think Eliminate down is an overpriced pile of shit myself.
Actually you should have finished already 40 titles ago Maybe you counted the demos with the normal collection? Satakore lists ~1260 regular titles (incl. different versions) and ~230 jpn Demos/Hibaihins. I did not play the SFC version but I thought the same about the MD game. On the other hand I think there's no other Puyo Puyo needed to own but PuyoPuyo Sun on Saturn anyway
I'm sorry. Just checked my excel list and I have 1152 Saturn games but that does include sample and promotion discs. Looks like I still have a few more to get. Yakumo
yeah, I recognised after the post was done, that I missed to add the word "almost" at the beginning of the sentence. why I'm just so lazy and sloppy sometimes :banghead:
