While unpacking all my stuff to put away in the new house I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a photo of my Mega Drive collection. Basically I only buy MD games that I enjoy unlike with Saturn were I'm trying to obtain a full set.

    All together

I did have more than that at one point. I sold them though in favour of buying mint copies at a later date (All the above games are mint) or because they weren't very good.

I'm not buying Contra or Vampire Killer on the Mega Drive because I don't feel they're worth the stupidly high prices they go for in Japan. The same goes for Eliminate Down. It's a very nice shooter but worth the price if I'm not a collector of MD games? Hmm..... Glay Lancer is another I want but 8000 plus yen? What's crazy is that I sold a mint copy of that a few years ago thinking I could get another with ease, then up goes the price :(

Other Mega Drive games I'd like but don't own due to the prices they go for are Runark, Kabuki Warriors (Recently got a multi bootleg with both of them on it), Snow Bros, Flash Back and Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles.

Aladdin is an awesome game. One of the best movie based games ever. I played it a ton as a kid. You've got an awesome mint collection.

That's great Yakumo! Wardner no Mori Special is one of my favorite Mega Drive games but I think none of my friends liked it. Great collection! ^_^

The last two boxes are smaller then the rest, cool collection though good luck on your Saturn quest.

Yes, it is. Aladdin was one of those games that really did show you what you could get out of a Mega Drive. Fantastic animation and easily the best up to that time, great audio and very good use of the limited colour pallet. So good in fact that it looked better than Capcom's effort on the SFC.

 I guess you're right. I sort of think a collector as a person who'll buy complete crap as well as the good titles. A bit like me and the Saturn.

:eek:h: I've never noticed that before :eek:h: Just goes to show what you can find if you take a close look

Great collection (you should get Dynamite Headdy too, it's awesome and way underrated), yet another console where Japanese boxart is superior.

BTW, how many Saturn games are still missing from your collection? Every time I look at your site, I think you must have just about all of them

I am sorry that was the wrong answer as Panarama Cotton came in a normal sized box, well thanks for playing.

Anyway Yakumo why no Puyo Puyo, Tatsujin, Insector X to name three games that you should have and even a minty copy should be no more then Y1000 if that...

I have three copies of Contra as I forgot I had it (twice....)

I had Dynamite Heddy but sold it because the instruction booklet was tatty (You can see it on my site) but I will get it again some day. As for Saturn I'm about 1300 titles now so about 200 left?

Yes, that's true. I wonder why they did that?

Puyo Puyo on the Mega Drive has F*ing awful audio so I own the Super Famicom version which is far nicer on the ears. Tatsujin and Insector X I did own (Both on my site) but sold both. Tatsujin I'll buy again in mint condition but Insector X wasn't really that good IMO to be honest.

One would assume they ran out of Famicom boxes...

That's sacrilege that is, yes the voices aren't as perfect as the Super Famicom version but still it's still the original version using arcade code and the music sounds exactly like the arcade (I should know I have the arcade board). You should have the Megadrive version to show your love for Sega.

Tatsujin should be on any megadrive owners list. I like Insector X it does have a nice charm about it. For example I personally think Eliminate down is an overpriced pile of shit myself.

Actually you should have finished already 40 titles ago o_O
Maybe you counted the demos with the normal collection? Satakore lists ~1260 regular titles (incl. different versions) and ~230 jpn Demos/Hibaihins.

I did not play the SFC version but I thought the same about the MD game. On the other hand I think there's no other Puyo Puyo needed to own but PuyoPuyo Sun on Saturn anyway

I'm sorry. Just checked my excel list and I have 1152 Saturn games but that does include sample and promotion discs. Looks like I still have a few more to get.
