YES YES YES YES YES YES YES OK lets hook this up.... Queue the horn That's a pretty big FUCK YOU right there Ok I have a plug, the System, what do I need now?
^ that and a private teacher to get your punctuation ignorance sorted out. There's at least two missing punctuations in the headline alone Anyway, RF is obviously a video signal's internet explorer. Since getting an RGB monitor isn't very easy in the US, you'll probably end up with S-Video. There are official S-Video cables for the Sega Saturn, search ebay and buy one, it's probably the best you can do without buying a bigass broadcasting monitor or an imported display device. Despite some blind people claim it, S-Video still sucks in comparison and should not be considered a substitute for RGB. I'm currently playing my stuff on a 14" amiga monitor that I run on a 300W voltage converter here in Canada. It's tough but possible to get true RGB goodness on this continent.
If you want to be ghetto about it, you can make your own AV cable from the RF modulator. I had an original Sega RF box, the Saturn plug was the type that came aprt easy enough (had tabs not molded), took it apart and was surprised to see it had the stereo audio pins there. Used a set of spare AV cables laying around (like the cheap ones you get with DVD players), put the lot together for next to nothing. I later got a proper set of s-video ones.
I have 2 pads Black Bean type and the Ugly kind. After the Video Cables I'll get the Ram Cart/Backup/AR cart thingy or rather at the same time as, Then of course NIGHTS and the 3d Controller and most IMPORTANTantly a Copy of Street Fighter Zero 3, and possibly Blast Wind. Is it even the slightest bit feasible to get Burning Rangers or does it still go for the soul of your first born? Edit: Oops SFZ3 doesn't seem all that feasible now DAMMIT!
Burning Rangers isn't really expensive at all. I just wonder why Blast Wind is so high on your list when there are a lot of cheaper Saturn shooters that are really good, like Layer Section and Soukuou...that game.
It's the only game that doesn't work on SSF I got Norma to play games that don't emulate properly. Yes, I named my Saturn Norma.
Far from the only game that doesn't work on SSF...at least I couldn't get X-Men vs. Street Fighter to work.
VF 2, Fighting Vipers and Fighters mega mix all lack sound effects when actually fighting. Blast Wind and Groove on Fight lack music. I can get X-Men VS Street Fighter running no problem but I am def going to get it for Norma anyway. Fighting Vipers I'll be getting in Japanese form just for PEPSI MAN!
I found an S-Video Cable for Norma. Now I just need to make sure I get the right Action Replay Plus. Is the EMS one ok? And what other games would I be better off getting the Japanese edition of? When it comes to US games Unless they are holy grails I'm going to avoid getting Complete editions those damn long box cases take up way too much room. Oh yeah in terms or arcade sticks, what should I look for?
At least VF2 and FV are cheap. Don't know what I was doing wrong with XvSF, but then again I was using an actual Saturn disc. All the ones worth buying, except the handful with a lot of text. Japanese versions are usually cheaper and easier to find online. The Astro City one :love2: Actually, I just wish I had that. Don't get the Virtua Stick, it's a cheap plastic piece of crap.
This is not true. If you want a RGB monitor in the US you can get one used for less than $200. It's just that standard crappy american CRT TVs tend not to support anything better than Composite, lucky if it supports S-Video. But these days that is no excuse. Also if you have an HDTV, you can probably run RGB to it. I found atleast some HDTVs will take 15khz RGB over their VGA connector. Might not be bad for some consoles.
It'll be hooked up to the same CRT my Dreamcast is It has 2 S-Video ports and 1 composite. My Dreamcast looks fine through S-Video esp the games that aren't VGA supported.
really, it's the internet it's not like my forums posts are term papers. Anyways eagerly awaiting the resident Saturn expert's input.
You just proved my point. You have to get a bigass (or expensive) broadcasting TV or a super expensive amiga monitor. $200?? That's 10 times what an amiga monitor costs in Europe. And about twice what a 27" RGB broadcasting monitor in excellent condition sets you back. So yeah, it's of course possible, everything is, but it's a PAIN IN THE ASS. There's a reason why I bothered bringing 5 RGB screens all the way from Europe and I run them with a super heavy voltage converter. :dammit:
My sister's name is the same as your Saturn. Ha! Anywho, I saw a lot of loose AV and S-Video cables on Mercadolibre, so probably they're quite available in the States as well. Like this one http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.mx/MLM-73228911-cable-de-super-video-para-sega-saturnochecalo-_JM and so on. One of these days, I'll take the plunge and get my own machine. Nice that you got one.
