well just finished playing halo 4 on the xbox 360 and i happened to pick up a spare green crystal original xbox for £10 that had been modded. didnt need it but i had an idea about putting my 360 into the xbox original case. i just recently did this with my new pc build so thought his would look really cool.also managed to adapt the front facia panel to fit the existing xbox 360 dvd drive. so far so good, and just awaiting the arrival of the original xbox front panel that ive had soldered by someone to connect to the switch motherboard of the xbox 360, so far so good :)

That's super neat, I will have to pick up an old original case and try it.

You may want to consider adding some kind of top venting, considering that you put the Xbox 360 contents into a case not designed for the 360, and the 360 already has a hard time keeping cool as it is. Let that run and I can bet you will get RROD within a day.

but the original xbox console has far more venting on the sides and is physically bigger.. no

the original xbox 360 case had a solid bottom and just a vent sized meash hole on the other side plus the top vents, but then again it was incased in a massive metal cage, the rebuild has no metal casing and has vents at the back plus the original xbox case venting on both sides, im sure the original xbox case is both larger and has far more air circulation than the original xbox360 case.. well i would like to think so any ways :)

It's not only about how many vents, but also where they are. As is, you seem to just be circulating the hot air inside the case. I would at least put an extra fan at the back (where there used to be one) to try and draw the heat out, maybe think about some shrouds to create something resembling a proper airflow...

Nice job, you could maybe wire some usb ports to go where the controllers would have connected originally.
