ive actually used the old fan shrouding off the xbox 360 that sits over the heatsink. this just sucks air out. and ive added extra vent holes in the top of the case. ran it for an hour today with no problems. as for the hard drive i have left that out for the moment as im using an xbox 16gb usb for my gaming. there is room for a hard drive but i decided not to bother at the moment, i have my xbox one for that..!!!!
usb ports in the front would mean more soldering and i dont need them, havent decided what to do yet about the front ports..
all in all its gone quite well, yes the system does get warm but nowhere near as warm as it got when it was in its original xbox 360 case..!!!
the leds at the front have been wired up but one dosent work, right one..!! think this is down to different voltage on the xbox 360. will look at this agin in the future maybe.

    front panel re wiring

Really cool mod I'd love one of these! If I was confident enough I'd like to try modding a nintendo wii to fit in a GameCube case. Don't know if that's possible but you just gave me the idea.

you could see if you could just squeeze the original xbox controller ports in for aesthetics.....maybe if your feeling like finishing the look, try modding a old xbox duke pad with a 360 wired controller and use 2 of the controller ports as usb ports, you could even add a little hub and have all 4 linked up and keep the usb ports on the back for plugging normal usb ports in :D anyways cool job i like seeing stuff like this

i had this same idea when i was a freshman in high school, but limiting knowledge is limiting. never did anything, just a thought.. BUT you did a really awesome job! i always liked the original xbox case.
