haha. i like PsyOpus. in medium doses. the preview to me sounded nothing like the stuff of old. there was barely any time-changing chaos. no fast technical riffs thrown in. i will wait for the album to make a solid opinion but to me the preview is a little dissapointing
Same here, it confronts your thoughts about what music is, but i you can't denny they are poseurs that make technicality for the sake of technicality. ---Whhaaat?
the drums in that video are actually almost all the same speed. there like 2 small parts where it changes. its mostly just a switch in the technique he's using. still good. as i said before though. barely any time changing chaos
It's very funny and very smart. The booklet is awesome, the whole things a concept album about them escaping to hell, but its so funny the way they write stuff. Excerpt: "Where's Samual L Jackson?" gurgles out Jizmak, immediatly soiling himself." Pure gold!
I don't disagree with this, it's just that ''bashing'' them when they try to bring new things to the table that is actually quite good and still all over the place seems weird to me. I'm glad to see more jazz influence in the drums, wich feels, from the little we seen in this video, quite more ''free'' and ''moving'', imo. I just hope they won't fuck up this record. Miss Machine was great, but too mtv-ish.
wasn't really bashing. if it sounded like that it wasn't meant too. dissapointment was the wrong word really. the more i watch the better it gets but then again. i'm a huge fan of Irony Is A Dead Scene
Right now it's Soulwax and Venetian Snares but I change my playlist pretty often so it's not what I listen to all day long
I have the top 100 songs from 1980 to 1984 on my PC, never got around to finishing the other 500. Napster Japan should be up and running soon, tho. For $15 a month I'll take it. Nice call on Rush, but I find that I listen to one song from one album, then I switch to 2112 every time... I've rented and ripped so much based on recommendations that I have a backlog of so many albums on my PC that it's overwhelming at this point. Life sucks.
my current playlist contains: Bracewar - s/t EP Converge - No Heroes and Shark Attack - Discography and @ barcode: DEP rocks
An endless loop of albums this week comprising of: The Jesus & Mary Chain, Primal Scream, The Legend, The Pastels, Stone Roses, Joy Division, Velvet Underground and The Smiths.
Well, I got over 30 different playlists in Itunes for different Video game songs, but my "regular" music playlist consists of: Fly me to the Moon (Evangelion end credits track) Ode to Joy (Again, from an Evangelion track. Yes, yes, I know Beethoven made it) Hallelujah Chorus (Hmmm, I wonder where I thought of this, too?) Now it time for the hard rock! Enter Sandman Ironman Rocky Balboa (Eye of the Tiger) Flight of the Valkyries Techno version of "Hall of the Mountain king" Techno Chicken Dance from Madness The Nutcracker (Russian Dance)
