My Setup here in Dubai

Just thought i would share with you all my setup here in UAE. seen some nice things on here.

Phillips 42 inch 1080P HDTV
Harmon Kardon 240 7.1 Channel Amp
Infinity Modulus Speakers.

how hard is it to come across game stuff in dubai? just ebay & co.?

 

PC = Aurora Gigabyte Chassis man - its nothing special.

Alphagamer - for new stuff, very easy. for old stuff very very hard. u cant really ebay here and there are now fleamarkets or pawn shops like u get in the states.

i use moeroshop, play-asia, sashimigames.com for most of my stuff mate.

Those new consoles i found in a warehouse and made offers. those 4 V-boys are from the case of 100 found in a warehouse in dubai that made kotaku....i bought 5 and gave one to my cousin.

 

ok just picked up a new in box Atari Lynx II with Batman Returns included and 3 sealed games (incl Shadow of the Beast etc) for around $70USD.

Also managed to track down another Sealed 3DO, pocketstation (dont know what that is) and a sealed in box SNES US NTSC - will get them in the next few days..

 

how to get imports in dubai?

 

u just gotta know the right people or import them yourself. one is very cheap, the other very very expensive...

you should visit Geekay Games in Dubai. As far as I know it's in the Deira City Centra. I was there in 2005. They had lots of systems, PAL, US and JAP, retro and current gen. They even had Virtual Boy. I bought some Dreamcast Millenium pads and some other stuff there. However I don't know if the shop still exists.

Geekay now mainly specialise in new stock, and they are all over the place.

I know hte guy who manages the warehouse at geekay which is one of the places im getting all my stuff from..cheers cool photos btw!

 

how do you get the games on the machine?

 

Some playstation games came with the options for them Like chocobo world with FFVIII, and some sim games like Love hina required it to play the game.

 

ok got my Atari Lynx II in box with 4 games (1 included, 3 sealed)



and Demon Souls....

this game is incredibly hard but absolutely amazingly good.

 

picked up uncharted 2 a couple of nights ago - on the last chapter now. absolutely amazing game in terms of fun, visuals, sound and story. cant recommend it enough.
