My young nephew likes the Sponge Bob PS2 game, but he is so bad at jumping that it drives me insane. His parents won't let me teach him Street Fighter or anything beyond a PG "Without attacking anyone", so I am limited to kiddy platformers and sports games. I wanted to get him FIFA but I'm a cheapskate and will only get used games for him. FIFA here, even old versions are over $20! Sheeesh!
FIFA? Are you trying to put the poor boy off games for ever? I would look for a Winning Eleven game instead..
I´d say, congratulations! =p Man, I wish my dad was a gamer.. Same here, I actually think every EA game is a piece of shit.
If you have a DS I really can recommend Kirby Squeak Squad. My daughter (5 now) love it, and it´s a perfect action game for kids. Not too hard, but meanwhile great action with a lot of weapons, funny boss fights etc Wario (actually all of them, specially Twisted to GBA and Touched to DS) is another favorite here (great humor;-) ), and of course Super Metroid. Two Sega games she also likes a lot are Nights (but we play it together) and not least the first ToeJam & Earl to Megadrive. She is also a "fan" (well, she think he is funny...) of Segata Sanshiro and use to watch this from time to time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3lCF8O2N50 (the House of the Dead-part is maybe a little bit scary...)
Thanks for the recommendations, I appreciate it! Finding young child friendly software that is actually good is a hard task, so getting an opinion from someone with a child is great! We don't have a DS, but you have given me a great excuse to purchase one lol
Parris- you want another PAL Retail DC? Got one here with controllers which you can have.. If i can dig it out tonight i will stick it in your parcel.. failing that, it can follow in the next few days.
Not my kids! Never to see a game. Off to graduate school to become doctors or lawers and get good jobs. That way they can support their dad and his gaming habots. I can then sit my ass and play games without worry.
There are a lot of reasons to buy a DS for your kids (and yourself. Even more than one since it´s very fun to play multiplayer games together. As Mario Kart. But beware; since DS have sold so well there are a lot of really bad games out there (not least "for" kids). Guess a lot of game companies trying to cash in on the big user base. That kind of games you never (or very seldom) read about in the gaming magazines, but appers in big piles in the game shops. Poor Nintendogs clones (with diffrent kinds of animals...), Barbie-games etc. etc.
