What's not to like? I mean it's one of the classic fighting games. The hit detection is spot on and you ain't gonna get a better plot and story line this side of FFVII. LOL
That's a very nice collection you got there  but just one question, how come most of it is American stuff? I would have thought South Africa would be getting European stuff? Did you buy it all from Ebay or local shops? Yakumo
Yes you're right. South Africa is PAL country. If you have a closer look at my PS2 and to a lesser degree my PS1 collection, a big chunk is PAL stuff. However, as you say, most of the other stuff is NTSC from the States via eBay. Choosing NTSC over PAL has meant a whole bunch of 220v to 110v step-down converters, which has resulted in cable chaos when I have a bunch of my console systems set up at the same time. lol
Ah, that explains it then. Thanks for that. For a moment I was thinking South Africa was NTSC. Yakumo
That's a very nice gaming setup with a fair few decent games per system. As collections go, sure there are bigger per machine, but you still have some desirable titles on most systems and a bulky overall collection. I'd say you're more a gamer who isn't fussy than a completionist collector, or you'd be concentrating on one system at a time ;-) Nothing wrong with that! Is your mk2 C64 missing some screws? Don't most consoles share a power lead? Saturn, DC, PSX, PS2, Xbox etc. all use the Telefunken figure-of-8 lead. You can just swap that over to save space ;-) Same with the Genesis and Jaguar PSU, IIRC. I'm curious - how was the Saturn sold in South Africa? Was everything imported from Europe? Were there any regional variations (e.g. France had blister packs, Turkey had their own hologram thing on the packaging, Australia had their importation label)? I have two. Kneel, biaatch!! :110: lol
@ retro, Yeah, that C64 has seen it's fair share of (ab)use over the years. ;-) Re your Saturn question: The Saturn was never sold in South Africa. Importing was the only option for those of us that wanted to experience it's games.
How dare you taunt the less fortunate!? :rambo: You should let me borrow one. It's probably stupid PAL though...
Of course it is PAL! Why would I want stupid Never The Same Colours? :110: Gazza, that's interesting! Were they imported from Europe, mostly?
I would guess it was about an even split. I reckon those who didn't mind/could afford paying the extra (because of the exchange rate) went the Euro route, and the rest of us got our stuff from the States.
Thats a long way from humble and its very nicely pressented. How is it stored? Do you display it or is it hidden away?
I do display my collection as best I can. Those pics that you saw are the ones I took in my home theatre room where also most of my dvd collection is located. I need to tidy up a little bit(put everything back in it's place) and then I'll take some wider shots of how everything looks. I do however also connect up a few console systems and some of my games in the upstairs room and play some of the time from there. Below is a pic of some of my systems hooked up in that room to my Sony tv. Notice the various cables running all over the place. lol
while i appreciate the pics from you initial post i really like seeing the setup in action (real world style). you cable maze is still a lot neater than mine
My WonderSwan stuff arrived today. I'm pretty stoked over the fact that both systems are in absolute mint condition.
So with it being one of the great handheld systems in existence, it warranted the purchasing of not one but two of these units! lol Yeah, it's the one and only GameCom. :icon_bigg The seller also threw in a few games and so just over $20 for the whole lot wasn't too bad. (the resident evil 2 game was also shipped but it looks like the nice folks that work at the south african post office may have decided to keep it for themselves)
The terribleness of that game cannot be put in to words - it's something you need to play to understand. It's that bad. I hope it eventually turns up so you get to experience it first-hand. Nice collection, by the way.
That bad huh? Not even in a 'it's so bad it's good' kinda way? But yeah, I more or less knew what I was getting in terms of game quality, but as I said previously, 20 smackers for a couple systems and with games, ain't too bad.
