Anyone know of anyone in the UK who has a suitable setup to re-flash my N-GAGE? I have the WSOD thanks to some fucking freeware using up all the internal memory even though it was installed to the MMC. I now need the firmware re-flashing in order to make it work again. Nokia won't touch it, and the few places I have found that will, want £30 and to have it for 2 weeks! One place did say they would do it for a tenner, but I can't find their number again.
Yeah, you get htelight on and the Nokia logo, then you get a quick flash of an error screen saying "SysON Error" then the ligh turns off and the Nokia Logo flashes a few times. I really can't believe this, it has been dead for months, I turn it on this morning to check the error message, and it asks me to insert my SIM, so it's working now. But it did do this before then stop working again, so I'm not expecting much.
I left mine sit for 8 months without using it, and it recovered from the same thing. Nokia wouldn't touch mine either, they said the serial number didn't exsist... that's what i get for using a debugger. EDIT: Mine's done it twice, and then never did it again, although i don't leave a sim card in it now. If you're just using it for gaming, i'd throw a copy of stools on there and leave it in airplane mode. Only problem then is that you won't get the ngage arena or bluetooth...
It died again... Mind you, it didn't seem healty, you couldn't edit profiles, the radio didn't work, applications were apparently installed but not, it threw up random errors all the time, I rebooted it then it wouldn't come back up... Gamestation are doing the Silver QD for £49.97, but all of them around me have sold out, otherwise I would get one of them. I have enough games to warrant spending that much, hell I could make a few quid just selling them for £60 on ebay.
I only need it to make calls and play games, I have enough other devices that do radio, mp3, video etc.
