HI, do you guys have any idea how the N-Gage gamedeck games were cracked? I remember the games were cracked like in 2 months after they were sold at retail stores? I am interested in this as I have a N-gage pocket kingdom mmc card but is it glitched out and the only way to make it work is to somehow copy its files and load them again to the card.

 

a good starting point would be to grab the cracked version as well as a clean dump of the same game, shove them through IDA and see what changed. iirc from when i compared a few like that in a hex editor (no ida), it usually was only a few bytes' change, so i guess it might be as simple as nopping/changing a few jumps. no fancy encryption or anything.

 

Yeah, I figured that already on my own. I meant that do you have any idea how the copy protection was implemented itself? I mean when I try to edit the cracked .app it will not launch the game properly etc
