Hi All, I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I recently acquired a Transformer but I can't seem to identify all of the pinouts. This might be a silly question but can someone help me determine if Pin 6 is 0V? I'm planning to wire this up to a NAOMI 2 arcade cabinet using USA 120V AC. Thank you!
Quick correction, after getting the label translated, the numbers next to the pinouts are not the same as the numbers on the label. The numbers on the label just mean there are different voltage options. If I wanted to use 110V I would use Pin 1 and Pin 3 as entry terminals. The third column means short bar connect. Pin 1 & ? and Pin 3 & Pin 4 are bridged. As I discover more information, It seems I am missing the information needed to bridge Pin 1 to one of the other pins on the left side.
I'm sure you already know this, but the top line is 入力電圧結線方法 (input voltage wiring method), the second column is 入力端子 (input terminals) and the third column is ショートバー接続 (shorting bar connection) The problem is that the existing wiring doesn't seem to match any of the options. The two shorting links are the same place, which suggests that the primaries are in series, but that would imply 220V, 230V or 240V operation, and none of the stated wiring arrangements for any of those voltages have pins 3 and 4 strapped. My guess is that the first section of the primary is on the even pins and the second is on the odd pins (this is quite common for split primary Japanese transformers). (assume) A) On the odd half 3 is the start of the winding, 1 is the 110V tap and 5 is the 120V tap. B) On the even half 4 is the start of the winding, 2 is the 110V tap and 6 is the 120V tap C) The windings are in opposite phase, so must be wired start to start or end to end This would give Line input jumpers 110 1 3 1-2 3-4 (both 110V taps, in parallel) 120 3 5 3-4 5-6 (both 120V taps, in parallel) 220 1 4 2-3 2-3 (110V in series with 110V = 220V) 230 2 3 4-5 4-5 (120V on odd section, 110V on even = 230V) 240 3 6 4-5 4-5 (120V on both sections = 240V) A good sanity check would be to see if the last number in the 110V line (obscured by the black wire in the photo) is actually "4", as predicted. I have no idea if this is right, but it's internally consistent, and lines up with the parts of the label that are readable.
