Yup, the three prong variety. Cut off the end that doesn't plug into the wall. There should be three individual wires inside. Those are what you want to connect to.

Which wire goes to which? The colors are different :\ Brown, Blue, and Green(ish) are the colors on the cord.

Uh, Um, hmm... Any chance that you have a voltmeter and can trace the leads? Probably not. Polarity shouldn't matter, so you should only need to figure out which one is the ground.

If you don't have a voltmeter, you can try the "poor man's" voltmeter. Take something like a flashlight lamp (the actual bulb) which runs on a battery. Run a wire from the ground prong to the bottom of the bulb, then from the side of the bulb to one end of the battery. Now, take each of the bare wires from the cable and touch it to the other side of the battery. If you complete the circuit, the light should come on (it might be VERY dim though). Test to make sure that the other two wires do not complete a circuit (they should not). The wire that completes the circuit through the bottom round prong will be the ground wire (i.e. it should be paired with the green wire). The other two wires should be paired with the black and white wires (it shouldn't matter which one is which).

Using a small light bulb and a battery may give you a little tingle if you are holding any of the bare metal, but it isn't dangerous. I am guessing that the power cord's ground is also green, but you should definitely test it to be safe or else you risk frying a lot of things if you connect power to the ground.

I just have a wealth of useless knowledge :smt1062

    Famous last words...

It's strange, I have cut open about half a dozen computer PSU cables from different places and manufacturers, and every single one of them had the cables color coded white/black/green.

I wish you luck on the test. You don't live alone do you? Is there a timeframe where we should call the paramedics/coroner if we don't here from you? :smt082

If you have an extra spare, it can't hurt (anything other than the cable anyway). Just out of curiosity, have you ever seen this Naomi system working?

As far as I have been able to determine, polarity (+/-) shouldn't matter. However, the black wire coming out of the power supply should be positive; the white wire should be negative. Here are your pairings:

    Brown to black
    Blue to white
    Green to green

You are right about that. Remove the four screws holding in the DOA2 cartridge and then pull it out. It may be a snug fit as there are three sets of pins that connect the cartridge to the motherboard.

Even though you don't have a GD-ROM, the GD-ROM manual has the error messages and their meanings. You can get a copy of it from here:

    http://www.seuservice.com/manuals/GD%20Rom/GDRommain.html

This is straight off of Sega's arcade service website. They have a bunch of manuals (for their games only), including some Naomi games.

If reseating the cartridge doesn't work, use the test/service buttons to go into the motherboard service menu and run the diagnostics there.

I'm going to go try to make sushi now... :ramen

Its Error 01, which means that its not seated properly. When i went into the test, it said Unknown Cart and wasnt detecting it.

Reseating it should fix that. Some boards/carts are picky though, so if it doesn't work immediately after reseating, try varying degrees of forcefulness in putting the cartridge in.
