I am not going to pay almost 1000 kroner for a POS peripheral , and to either an XBOX 360, or a 360 slim for that matter. And then buy some weak ass fucking game. And the peripheral is just a thingy that basically is a WII ripoff . What a load of wank.
At least the SONY "stick" known as move or what ever it is known as looks better, but just kinkyer , cause the women can have their "fun" with. Hell suddenly I can imagine a remake of the old C64 game known as Sexgames 1 and 2 to SONYs new peripheral.

 

What i hate about Kinect, is that M$ is forgetting the Xbox360 is a GAMING console. If i want to navigate through menus and stuff like that, a game or remote controller is just fine and way faster.

As cool as it sounds, it will get old quickly. Just imagine you want to watch a movie on it. If you are already familiar with the menus, you can select one movie to watch very fast and with your eyes closed (no need to wait for the whole menu to load).

Now imagine with Kinect:

Xbox... Movies...
Xbox... Netflix...
Xbox... New releases...
Xbox... "movie name"
Xbox... Play movie

For motion control, it would be just as slow and then you'll need to stand up.

 

This just might be MS's Jaguar/3DO/CDi...

 

i have my 360 on a desk and sit only a couple feet away. kinect is useless to me.

 

Actually using motion for menues its a neat idea since you could point at two things separately like in a multitouch screen, but looking at kinect videos it seems they're going for the pan&swipe movements which are easier for kids, casuals and old people, since theres no learning curve to that.

Yep. Looks like $149.99 is pretty much official now. (chance they could do a drop but I don't know).

Also it doesn't seem like the core unit will come with a game. Maybe just some demos on a DVD or a pamflet telling you to go on XBL to dl demos of kinect software. That's just going to make the system look even more expensive in someone's eyes. They'll have to fork out $150 for the unit and an additional $40 just for a game ($60 if they go for something a bit better then kinectimals =P).

Upcoming X360 with Kinect in fall 2010-------->$399!

Sure it has an addon, but for a 5 yr old console that in any other gen would be closer to its replacement than an overdue redesign thats the least you could get, and specially considering the price is exactly the same than 5 years ago!

Today the X360 barely trails behind midend PCs, to the point you could get a decent DX11 rig for the same amount.

 

I this another failed addon my ms. There hd dvd was unsuported. This will be unsuported. One Xbox is not know as a child friendly system. Xbox is know for halo and its mature games becouse one all of the top sellers on xbox happen to all be mature friendly games. Trying to market a kid friendly device for somethign that isnt know for being kid friendly is a fail. If there goign for somethign kid friendly and more option for there kids the smart choise is nintendo. I could see sony haveing a better chance with something like this. Sony in the bigging had more kid friendly games like crash, rachat and clank, or even ape ascape. So who can honestly name one kid friendly game the ms is know for that would even make parents consider this becouse it seems likes only marketed for kids.
