You know the "mystery button" in the middle is a trackball which is most likely where the 360 comes in!

it looks like a cheap piece of shit. Painted on buttons? What's with the wire?

look how close the start button is to the other ones. some fat fingered folks will have problems with that one..lol

I don't think so. That's just the placeholder for the jewel logo.
My proto Xbox 1 controllers had the same indentation...

and unless andre the giant or some huge fuck is playing that, this will be smaller than the S controller, which I can not deal with. I liked Duke, and the S controller is managable especially since I have to use it since the fucks stopped selling Dukes.

You and me both. The Duke was/is the BEST Xbox controller for the console. Not so great for fighting games due to the wonky D-pad, but the analog sticks had just the right amount of tension and the whole thing just had a nice solid feel to it.

Perhaps people just have smaller hands these days, and you know what they say about those with small hands! ;)

I think that controller looks weird. What happened to the black and white buttons. I doubt they are gonna make the controller with less buttons. Also isn't it pretty much confirmed that the controllers are wireless?

Yep but its not that usefull to have wireless controlers on a dev kit...

I think the black and white buttons are now either placed on the shoulders or an extra set of triggers.

yes, that's what the word out seems to be.

and it should be wireless. this is probably just a prototype controller. that's why there's no labeling and there's a cord. might also be used as part of an alpha development kit. i heard a few stories about that. not necessarily true but possible.

    bah...I hate wireless.

The wavebird is nice, but it's also not standard. That'll be like an extra $50 I have to spend to buy a 2nd controller just because it's fucking wireless.

Looks good (note I say good, not great or AWESOME!) except for d-pad. In my experience, any d-pad not sectioned like the PS2s were harder to control and not the most sensitive--and I have had many different controllers. I may have grown used to NES/SNES/Genesis d-pads, but when something better, such as the PS2 controller comes out, I can be honest and say those d-pads are better, esp. since many games are past 2D phases of movement that the older systems were made for.

If they can fix that crappy d-pad, then it will be great looking.

I think they should've kept the S controller or add some sort of backwards compatibility. I have long fingers, but not meaty hands, so I prefer the S-controller to the Duke. This controller, however, does NOT look comfortable at all. The Duke at least wasn't going to slip out of your hands anytime soon :).

Guess I'm the only one here who thinks this looks alright. I couldn't stand the enormous original Xbox controller (worst d-pad in living history, maybe including the jag), and even the S was a bit bigger than I'd like.

What's the hole at the bottom for? Memory card? In Roi's picture on the PSP you can see it clearly...

eh, it looks like a cheap 3rd party ps2 pad with the left stick and cross reversed together... i liked the 6 button
layout, why could they had the trigger buttons AND keep the 6 frontal buttons? that would have been nice. i don't say use them all, but trigger buttons aren't always the best, especially for fighting games.

And i there's still alot of shops here that sells ''duke'' controllers around here. :)
