That because game has non 480 framebuffer. Some TVs better hide these artefacts.

Samsung is selling a 43'' Plasma model with a resolution of 852x480.
It should be very good for retro consoles.

Too bad it doesn't have S-video, so it's more likely ending just with Wii and Gamecube with Component. For the others the CRT will be the best option.
    The model is E400.

That Sony W6 looks promising, but WTF would I need to connect it to the Internet if my PS3/Xbox/Wii U/PC/phone is always on?

I just saw this thread and will like to share on my recent purchase~

I got a nice Sony 20" 4:3 ratio for cheap from cash converters (2nd hand dealers in Singapore), my plans is to hook up my mega drive and NES to this instead of the panasonic 42" 16:9 1080p which looks stretch and like crap.

    Specs: http://www.sony.com.sg/product/klv-20g300a

Looks lovely with the PS2 Slim 9000X rite?

I noticed that those old 20" LCD TVs with native 640x480 resolution tend to do a pretty good job with retro games. They certainly do a much better job than more modern ones. I tried connecting my SNES to my aunt's old LCD TV (I think the brand was Sylvania). It looked great and I couldn't feel any input lag. 240p signals worked in all its inputs (component, s-video, composite) and, most impressively, it didn't try to deinterlace 240p material. I never got around to testing it with 480i games though.

I have a Bravia KDL-40BX450 and it supports 240p. It shows up as 480p on the TV, but it's certainly 240p. It looks quite nice but the scaling on the TV leaves a lot to be desired. In fact I am in need of another XRGB Mini.... Perhaps I'll hit Yakumo up sometime this week.
