I had contact with someone who might have a prototype of it, but he never got back to me. A pity. Apparently the game never really got beyond the demo phase before they abandoned it in favour of the DOS version.

Wasn't that what happened with Comanche is they displayed the DOS version at the games expo but never made an actual snes version?

No, Comanche was an actual Super FX demo as well. There is actually a voxel demo floating around that demonstrates the software, so it was definitely doable.

There's som pretty nice handycam footage (okay, nice by 90s standard combined with not entirely optimal equipment/setup for ripping said footage) of Comanche in action at some expo. Just do a YouTube search for Comanche SNES and you'll find it. Don't think I've seen anything but stills from FX Fighter (and since I've never actually seen the game in action on other platforms, I can't say for sure whether those stills are from the SNES build or other platforms)

I can pretty well guarantee that a copy of comanche exists (exited at some point) I picked up what I was hoping was a proto of the game and as you can see from the label this could have been either the #5 of however many made or #5 version etc etc who knows but it turned out to be the unreleased FX-Sking NTSC version

I'm still sure that back in the 90s at the ETCS show in London I saw FX Fighter on an Electro Brain promotion video. I'm also very sure it was the SNES version since all the other games shown were also SNES titles. Does anyone know who was to be the European distributor for FX Fighter?

I don't think that Electro Brain was going to have anything to do with FX Fighter. This was going to be released by GTE Entertainment.

Wow, according to that video it says Nintendo were the company behind it. Probably the distributer in Japan. It did look very smooth and impressive for S SFC.

Yeah it looks even smoother than Virtua Fighter on 32X. It's hard to believe it runs on actual hardware.

Woah, the animations are spot on, they look exactly like they did on the PC.
Would be interesting to see more of this, however I'm already happy enough that we found some footage of this :)

Truth to be told it seems to have less detailed polygonal fighters, no texture, almost no lighting and the physics/collision system seems less accurate compared to VF for 32X.

Cool beans. I've got a bunch of old VHS tapes of various stuff from the 90s, but that footage is not on any of the ones I have. Been considering going on a VHS hunt again -- once life goes back to normal.

Do you have V-Jump 94 Festa VHS tape? That would be cool.

Wow! Thanks for sharing! I thought that any footage from the game had been lost forever. It's nice to see that something survived. I'm surprised that they tried their best to add some personality to the fighters and make them different from each other. It would have been easier to just use palette swaps, but they really tried to do a good job.

Most certainly do (got the whole set, did a few choice uploads of it on YouTube and Google Video ages ago). What're you looking for from it?
