To be honest, the final design of the NES resembled a gray plastic box. Of course, I personally like simplicity in my console design, so it didn't bother me at all. Those controllers sort of remind me of the design that the Sega Master System used. Those squarish D-pads really bit the big one when it came to play control...
i really wished they followed the concept drawing that appeared in the nintendo power magazine. i dont much care for the toaster nes.
