Probably another "Everything" on a chip deal. At the rate their going, you've have 32X integrated with the genesis portion soon
I think this is pretty much endgame, actually. There's no other comparable console hardware widely cloned that isn't on that board. (EDIT: forgot SMS, I guess four systems is next, doubt there'd be interest though). It'll be the same old shit, anyway. Three gloptops and a little bit of logic.
Those are the brand new one's that just came out. Compatibility is hit or miss and no add-on's will work. Not the best clone in the world but not the worst. I have a friend f mine that runs a used games store and he says they are so so but still if getting anything of this manner suggest a RetroDUO. It only does NES/SNES but I have never had a game that didn't work with mine but I have only tried NES games on it to tell the truth.
They won't be region locked outside of cart size/PAL vs NTSC issues. They certainly won't be outputting RGB, though - S-Video for the SNES portion if you're lucky, most likely composite for all three (really bad composite at that). Never heard of a clone with RGB out.
I never saw a NES clone with RGB output, but SNES clones can be easily modded. Have a look on benheck's forum for help.
Man I would suggest a RetroDUO. I love mine and have had no issues with this deck. It is by far the best clone hands downs and it gets S-video for both the NES and SNES side. GREAT little machines if you ask me. Only reason I have a SNES is for RGB and the fact copiers and flash cart DO NOT work on them But I od use it for most of my carts as it is so much easier to ahve one instead of two hooked up.
You might as well assume all clones are garbage because 99.9% of the time you will be correct. I know some people will stand up for them, but I really think they haven't played enough of the original systems and the pirate system to notice the things that are wrong. I doubt you'll ever see a clone with 32X support. For one Sega could sue people selling it because it has BIOS roms (32X) and more importantly it would cost money put into R&D to figure it out and well I don't think pirates exactly want to do that, certainly not unless they think it'll make them sell truckloads more of product.
I'd say there's zero chance of ever seeing a cloned 32X. Legal issues aside (I can't see any relevant license holders caring, to be honest), it's reasonably complex hardware, and there's simply no demand. Sorry to shoot you down here, but S-Video is only available to the SNES, and it's standard crappy clone hardware inside as well. The NOAC side works with a few more MMC5 games than most clones, apparently because they fixed the cart wiring, same chipset as usual though. I've also read multiple complaints about poor video quality, there are a few mods to rectify the colour balance and so forth. The one nice thing about the RetroDUO is the SNES controller ports, which allows you to use a decent pad at least, but aside from that it's the same old clone junk. You're still better off with the original hardware, unless you're really short of space.
Checked out the retro duo today, and it had some pretty ugly video output. Sure, it was on an LCD and all, but it was that bad.
