I am now soon to be a JXD 301 owner, provided it shows up! Looks like the homebrew thing has died a death a bit no news going on which is a shame, seems a cool unit.

It's a nice little unit, tho it crashed on me a couple of times and caused all the data on the internal 2gb to be corrupt, connecting it by usb and reformatting it helped but it was a pain to replace all the lost data each time so I sold mine eventually.

I had it mainly to play roms and watch movies, the rom part well besides NES it sucks.. all other emu's have some kind of issue going on (SNES is ok but sound is a bit messed) neo geo roms have slowdown, MD no sound or sound but slow and GBA is real crap and doesnt play any game decently.. as for the movies, providing you convert them to a smaller size/bitrate it will have quite some slowdowns playing normal avi divx/xvid movies.

But still what do you expect for that price? on the other hand if I am ever to buy a mp4 player again I would go for the gp2x. but I will definitly miss the size/weight and screen of the JXD!

Im interested in buying the GPX2 also, tho for the meantime im sure the JXD will be cool to mess around with it, not holding out much hope on the roms side, only gonna use it for music seems neat-o for the price fo sho.

I have not kept up on it but i dont think it has. You just have to look for information since it's only 2 people doing it at the moment. Supositly they've figured a majority of it out already and can do input, sound and drawing. I'm still waiting on a way to inject apps to be able to test things (with out the need of additional hw).

Seems a method for injecting your code onto the JXD301 exsist since ealier in the month. Gonna have to put together some free time to check this out.
