say what you will, the VC hasn't been hacked, although the DVD drive has been.

i think it could be done with reasonable security. perhaps make the cart so it only works with the arm7, or take out the DSWare, put in media player instead

err...nintendo did it with the play-yan device for the gba...so its doable, don't forget, there's already an official flashcart for the ds for the web browser

think of it as an advanced play-yan device

I think it's all BS. I don't see why they'd make a new revision of the DS now. Maybe they'll make some new device for it, but a whole new unit is retarded. At most I'd see some cost cutting moves. The DS already sells very well, why would they need to change anything?

Nobody's forcing you if you already own a perfectly good DS/DS lite.
In this same product line, there's no way Nintendo can just go and force everyone to upgrade to the latest model to utilize a feature like VC that would actually make more money.

Nintendo would release a dongle of sorts for the DS/DS lite units. Bam!

Now, if it's a new successor altogether, then things get different, as history has shown.

And that make sense really.... they still sell like hotcakes, why bother switching things up just yet?

I seriously doubt the gba port will go, as some ds games need it, band bros, slide adventure mag kid, face training & arkanoid.

My guess is the rumours have come about from the DS2.

How? Unless there is specific hardware that handles GBA on it's own. The R&D is done.

But if I dont but I own GBA then they are forcing me, thats the scenario...

Indeed, after all nintendo has learned that being lazy and nihilistic is better for business than being agressive and innovative.

After all nobody gave a crap about the GC and it was a good console, and it didnt take too long for people to forget the N64. On the other hand their long time rival SEGA died due to what amounts to a lot of innovation and creativity.

Nintendo is wise, they're not risking their new source of income...

Blah blah blah. My name is Shadowlayer and I like to speculate and say my opinion is fact. Why don't you just start complaining your DS doesn't play SNES games?

Or is that the conspiracy post you plan to place next week?

    Where did that come from?

Seriously dude, would you dare to compare the nintendo from 6 years ago to what we have today?

Lets be honest, with the DS being a GBA 1.5 and the Wii being a modified GC you cant, in any way, say that nintendo is innovative.

The wiimote was actually meant to be released with the GC 6 years ago, what about that?

not 6 years ago. it wasnt until the middle-to-late cycle of the GC that motion sensitive controllers were prototyped.

They'er not. DS is composed of GBA parts.
Arm7 is used by the DS for sub functions, the GBA 2D core is used as 1 of the DS's 2D cores (1 per lcd).

So...do you actually play games, or just bitch about them? I think every positive thing you say about Nintendo etc is backed up with WII ISNT INNOVATIVE AT ALL or three dots.

Yeah, what the heck Shadowlayer? DS could've stood to be more powerful, but compelling enough software has been made for it. "Ah, well, it's not as powerful as it should be so it's not innovative enough." Wow.

It's not like it hasn't at least done more with what it does have.
