New forum for PlayStation homebrew developers

Haunted has "quit" this place twice and "quit" benheck.com's forums once. The dude is (or was, I don't know if his birthday came up or not) 18. Most of us can remember how we acted at 18 as if we were hot shit. Now spin that hot shit mentality to where you have a audience (the entire damn internet) and try to see how that might get out of control.

His behavior has routinely been less than stellar and posting an address is a big no-no if that wasn't already fucking apparent.

Well, hopefully he'll realize that he thinks he's hot shit and maybe he'll think a little harder before posting things. I'm 19 and can say that if I took a look at my old posts on the internet, I'd probably find quite a few where I came off as annoying/overconfident/"woow look at me!!1!". But I've learned to keep my mouth shut and know my place.

With Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Kickstarter, etc., it's clear that people enjoy giving themselves a false sense of importance and embrace individualism when they really have nothing to offer and are just another member of the "me" generation. Maybe this isn't the exact case for Haunted, but it seems to point in that general area.

Its has been mildly entraining while he has been here but, as you said he acts immature and is not open to criticism. The botom line is he gets ofended, throws a fit and comes back with different account.

I thought the lesson learned last time was shut the fuck up until you have a finalized product you can distribute or get your ass handed to you.

Surely if there's a handful of people actually working on something then IM would be sufficient, especially seeing as loads of shit went down last time making it silly to try and go public in the early stages again?

Lastly if everyone's deadly serious about this happening then take it to Kickstarter. If Haunted is so confident then he should knock out a prototype (preferably with the chip the right way up) and try to earn some cash.

 

I think we've all said things we later regret. It's especially not easy when it's on the internet for virtually everyone to see. Celebrities have done it, game designers have done it, you've done it, I've done it, he's done it, we've all done it at some point. The key is to move past it and learn from those mistakes.

Definitely. Hell, I'd say it's just the internet in general. It brings out the worst in people.

Take one look at the increased popularity of mainstream online gaming. You've got people of all ages thinking they're tough shit and have no problem dropping racial/homophobic/sexist slurs because they know nothing will happen to them. No one is there to beat their ass and put them in their place, so they basically have the green light to not think before they speak.

You didn't see that very often back when video game arcades were everywhere here in the US. Back when you had to stand right next to the person you were playing. You talked a big game, you had to back it up, sometimes physically if you messed with the wrong person like a dumbass. Now all you have to do is call the other person a fag, rage-quit, and pretend like nothing ever happened.

 

They work fine for me. Have you tried connecting other websites hosted by fav.cc? Probably you're using some website filter.

 

Nope... I still can't even connect to the main fav.cc site. Maybe cause I'm located in the US? I don't know. My computer has been acting a little funny lately with random blue screen crashes, XP windows , but never have i been NOT able to connect to any particular website. Weird?!

 

I'm a collector. Which isn't easy in New Zealand as everything costs sooo much more. And that's it.

PS1 Coffee Brewer:

Digital water dispenser that receives basic I/O from the Comm Port + 5V from motherboard + modchip + homebrew software that interfaces with the add-on properly. Safely house the PS1 on top, clamp the dispenser onto the PS1's special housing that prevents steam from rising through the ventilation, attach a filter and a hot plate.

Getting the hot plate to work off of the PS1's board will be the toughest mountain to climb. Through the use of mad science, maybe the internal heat given off by the PS1 can be ventilated to a hot plate. Of course, this would require valves and timing to ensure proper air-cooling of the PS1.

Internet, make this happen. Do it NOW.
