    Hello, friends.

As many of you may recall, my company (Super Fighter Team) produced and released Beggar Prince for the Sega Genesis / Megadrive in 2006. The following year, we began working on our next game, which is now available for ordering:

Legend of Wukong is our brand new role playing adventure game for the Sega Genesis / Megadrive. Its story opens as the young Wukong, a student from the year 1996, accidentally gets thrown back hundreds of years into the past when he foolishly decides to mess around with his neighbor's newly invented time machine. Facing vicious demons in China's Tang Dynasty, he must come to his senses, make some friends and overcome the odds in hopes of retrieving the time machine and returning home.

In keeping with our quality standards, the game ships complete with authentic 16-megabit cartridge (with SRAM battery for saved games), plastic clamshell case with color insert, and 16-page full color instruction manual. For more information, please visit the game's official website: www.legendofwukong.com

If you have any questions about the game, please feel free to let me know here at the forum or by e-mail, and I'll be happy to respond in a timely manner.

Thank-you for your attention, and best wishes for 2009!

Video Game Trader magazine published a "first look" at Legend of Wukong in this month's issue, written by me. Their only error was to print that the game was due for release in early 2009. In fact, it was released officially on December 03, 2008.

Here are a few, new press features regarding Legend of Wukong, the Retroaction article being a very lengthy, detailed review of the game which includes exclusive screenshots.

*** Specialty Gamer interview with Brandon Cobb

*** Sega-Brasil interview with Brandon Cobb (in Portuguese)

We have also sponsored and will be represented at this year's Byte-Back event in Stoke-on-Trent, England, the weekend of March 7-8, 2009.

    Thank-you for your attention.

I can't see the point in porting Beggar Prince to other systems. It would be nice if there were more completely new games made, like Pier Solar. Instead of just translations that is.

For an oldschool Nintendo fanboy like me it makes sense to make an SNES port :)

Thanks for your interest, but I think I can safely say that Beggar Prince will not be ported to the SNES, either now or in the future. As a company we are generally against the idea of "ports", and if we were ever to produce a game for the Super Nintendo we would wish it to be something custom-tailored to take full advantage of the system's unique capabilities: not just a game redeveloped from the Genesis.

Legend of Wukong made its first public event appearance at this year's Byte-Back event in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England (March 7-8, 2009). Presented for free play along with Beggar Prince, both games were also available for purchase in limited quantities.

    Question:

Out of curiosity, is there a log/list of the the changes that have been made to the original game, aside from translating it?

Sure! I've attached a zipped copy of the list to this message. Just load it into your browser (it's an HTML file) after unarchiving. :)

Keep in mind it isn't a complete list of changes, but it does cover a lot of the work we did. I didn't think to keep a running list of everything right off the bat.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know. Thanks for your interest!
