I sure hope this is real and coming to the Wii ! Ghostbusters was one of the greatest 80's movies ever.

Heh, I saw the tech demo stuff earlier too. Very GoW-ish. I think it could be awesome, if they tighten up some of the models. Plus remove the stupid replacement Ion Wand.

Though I think this game could be awesome :D

Well the developers finally updated their site.

    http://www.zootfly.com/

Apprantly the game was a prototype for the 360, and development has hit a bump in the raod till licensing issues are sorted out.

But, feel free to tell them what you think of the proto.

My basic email said I think the game would be more suited to the Wii. Just because of the control potential for FPS

See, I don't think it would work that well on the Wii. For a game like that, I'd want 4 player Coop online, not just splitscreening it.

Not to mention the game isn't even an FPS, and more looks like its borrowing the Gears' style, which works fscking awesome on the 360.

Basically, 360 has the visuals, the networking and proven input for that style of play.

Well the license issue should be tied up for a while.

Hopefully nintendos online situation will be in play by then

Also i dunno, I loved gears, but I don't want a ghostbuster clone of gears of war, I already have gears of war.

I want something new I want to almost feel that sensation of 'reeling' that ghost in.

Plus, I don't want overlly realistic 'dark' visuals. I want a basic city set-up and some ghosts that aren't very realistic. Stay-puff and Slimmer style.

Luigi's mansion Style of ghosts maybe, I don't want resident evil or horror movie ghosts.

Plus Wii can probably push impressive visuals, Star Fox Adventures was good enough for me and the wii is capable of more then that. So was luigi's mansion.

What does everyone else think... would it work on the Wii better? Could it work?

Neither do I, but if it was to be a third person action game, the gears of war style aiming works best, as far as I am concerned.

I also agree that a too dark style would be bad. The visuals in that video are pretty nice, but focusing too much towards a dark style of just destroying the ghosts (Notice no traps in the video?).

Visually, I'd like it to try and stay faithful to the films. Ghosts can look pretty gruesome, but usually aren't trying to be that scary.

I'd disagree. I mean, the Gamecube could do some lovely stuff, just look at Resident Evil 4!

The Wii can definitely do good visuals relative to the Gamecube, but not relative to the other new systems.

Don't get me wrong, I'd gladly drop graphics in an instance to get better gameplay, but I highly doubt just the use of the Wii controller for aiming will really improve the game all that much.

    This game needs two things.

    A drivable Statue of Liberty

    AND

    The Staypuft Marshmallow man

Two possible reasons on licnessing Issues:

1:Getting Dan Akroyds approval on it since hes so over protective of the serise.

2:Sony who owns columbia. If they are the main holders of the licenses theres a good chance they will only allow a ps3 release.

I could be wrong though, spiderman games based on the films came out on all 3 last gen consoles.

well I dunno what their planning on pulling visually.

Like at first I thought about what your saying, because their using human expressions and stuff. But, I felt all the resident evil games of the cube were fine in terms of conveying expressions and so-forth. I'm cool with that, I don't need much more.

I don't think the game should be a shooter completely, because then its just a matter of shooting the ghost. Trying to sorta manevour and suck it up like in luigis mansio

I like to think maybe it'll be better if it was something like elebits.

Resident Evil 4 on the Cube is amazing! I'm playing it now on the Wii, 2nd time round ! Fantastic game with very impressive visuals. I think Ghostbusters would really benefit from the Wii control systems. The remote would be used to maneuver the proton stick/wand while the numbchuck is used to walk around. It would feel so natural to me. Play Zelda for a brief feel of what it would be like.

    Yakumo,

I think that post exactly needs to be sent to Zootfly. Lol I tried describing why I felt it would be a better fit but I couldn't really explain what I meant.

Speaking as a ghostbusters fan, I wouldnt touch this game (based on what is known) with a 10 foot pole.

In order to get me (and probobly other ghostbusters fans) to be interested it has to be true to the movies including having vehicles, characters, equipment and ghosts that look like the ones from the movies (or that look like they could fit in with the movie). If the Ecto-1 isnt a 1959 Cadillac Ambulance (and not that piece of crap Crysler 300c they have in the images), forget it.

Oh and it HAS to have the Ray Parker Jr theme music in there somewhere :)

    Could be interesting.

Marvel owns the rights to Spider-Man, and besides, Sony know they'd be stupid not to license a major (then) current film property to multiple formats. As for Ghostbusters, maybe they wouldn't be so keen... although they probably wouldn't mind making a bit more out of it!

Well, i'd say it looks promising aswell. But then, it looks like some FPS in a Dark Setting and I will never touch something like that :/
