That happens to my parents cellphones. They have nokias and the if they talk near our Sanyo TV, the TV starts spurting out high pitched whines and you hear it too when on the phone. Other than, Nokias are the only phones you can drop, hit with a hammer and still work , they are great for clumsy people like me.
You know, that sort of happens to almost every mobile phone sold in Mexico. Most of today's more advanced models don't do that, but I have a Sony Ericsson one that does that on ocassion, and the older Pansonic one I had, I kept in Silent while on the bus, because I'd still know when I got a message or was being called (even seconds before!) because of the noise my earphones made. It would also interfere with computer monitors. I'm thinking it was probably bad for my possibilities of having children, having kept that amount of radiation in my pants for a year.
Yea ? Well ,beat Splinter Cell on my NGage with something on japan phone! As far as the games on them look, they are still slow and very low-polycount.
Have to disagree there Paulo. Never gotten any sort of interference from Sony Ericsson, LG, Sanyo, Samsung or Motorola phones. Only the Nokias are nasty about it. -hl718
That's old news from last year now you see why Nokia can't sell their phones in Japan. NGAGE doesn't count because it's basically a games machine with a phone not a phone that plays games. Japanese phones use high end JAVA with some very impressive results. I've got House of the Dead, Initial D, R-Type, Space Harrier, Valis, Puyo Puyo Fever, Metal Slug, Puzzle Bobble and shit loads more. All look great ! Maybe they do have a lower polycount than an NGAGE but then again I only pay 300 yen a game while NGAGE is more like 5000 yen per game. Yakumo
Actually it is just a normal Symbian 60 series phone, it's just the physical layout thats "unique" thats why you can play the NGAGE games on a 6600. NGAGE games are really cheap now, 2 for 4000Y from a shop in the UK, and about 600Y each in America. The native Symbian 60 games are almost the same as the NGAGE games, and for the greatest part free.
It's not quite - there is one custom 3D chip which not all games use. However its the reason that not all N-Gage games work on other S60 phones (e.g. Tomb Raider IIRC)
True, but for the greatest part, it is generic phone hardware. Look at games like Super Monkey Ball, the driving games, they are all in "proper" 3D and run fine (albeit no sound) on other phones. I am genuinly impressed with the N-GAGE now, Ghost Recon and Asphalt: Urban GT are technically amazing. *edit* Screenshots:
Yep, Thats true. If the few shittinesses were ironed out (initially, not in a 6 month late revision, and also things like the screen does need to be at least 4:3) It may have been at least a minor player, rather than just plain dead.
So sad... Now, to feast on it's corpse and buy lots of mega cheap games! I reckon I can get a complete "PAL" set of games for less than a ton.
You can get games for free (khem), and yes, they work on most other S60 phones. Java is impressive, but still can't beat proper games on symbian.
No i think you will find all phones do that. Maybe you havent had as much of it as us because your not using GSM and the same frequences as us but everything from my nokia 3210 to my sony eric T68i to the nokia 8910i to motorola v3 and now my P910i do it to some extent or another. They all were the top of the line phones as well (P910i costing into $1000+).
I agree, all the phones I have / had interfere with the computer monitor or speakers somehow (Sony Ericsson T68i, T39, Siemens, Nokia...).
That's crazy you all mention that. For the first time, I noticed an interference with the speakers due to a Nokia cell phone I was using yesterday.
Just wondering, if I were to buy a Japanese mobile phone, would I be able to use it in Europe as well?
