I don't know if it will also see an XB360 release, but supposedly it is either at least PSP or PS3: URL of teaser site: http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/next/index.html Also, Metal Gear Solid if coming to PSN soon \o/
I hope it is better than the last one. Upon reflection I was disappointed with MGS4 to say the least.
Yes, because every game should be neutered so that it can run on every console with impunity. Could someone who has been paying more attention to this than I have explain the "S/5" "E" "3" "e" thing in the lightning flashes?
I m no MGS expert but I think lighting stands for "raiden" in Japanese and maybe S/5 implies the 5ith part (although I consider this a bit too obvious, maybe even misleading). Tbh, I d be more excited about a new Zone of the Enders at this point.
If you stare at the page long enough, it says "5@E3". Maybe they'll get away with MGS5 by making it another prequel?
Feh.. Kojima admitted he's under pressure from Konami to make more MGS games but couldn't they break the mould every now and then? Sequel hell indeed.
The PS3 can keep MGS. MGS4 didn't impress me enough to go out and buy a PS3. It was cool and all but not $400 cool.
Count me as disappointed in MGS 4 as well. Its the only installment of the Solid series I don't own, simply because there's maybe 3 hours of gameplay in it. You may think I'm kidding, but try renting it and skipping all the cut scenes.
If you look at the meta deta on that site, clearly says MGS & New Metal Gear etc. Hohoho. And yes, MGS4 was a phenomenal real-time rendered movie. Don't recall much gameplay. Woop.
Buying a game and skipping all the cutscenes is like buying a book and flipping through every page and reading only the last chapter. MGS4 was supposed to be the conclusion to the main story line, which is why it was so cutscene heavy. I agree with you that there are 3 hours of gameplay, if you count gameplay as simply getting from the beginning to the end. But there are like 5 difficulties. and when you play you can choose to kill or not kill, be seen or not seen. Theres hundreds of hours of replay in that 3 hours of gameplay. if you don't like it, you just don't like it. but for those of us who do, its kind of silly to say the games on worth playing for 3 hours and then putting away forever.
Probably another PSP game, and / or another story set in an alternate universe like the Metal Gear Solid for GBC.
I'm hoping for a remake of the original myself. If there were any games that called for a remake they would have to be the original Metal Gear games.
I'm not a MGS fan myself but I think 3rd parties are stupid if they make any games exclusive especially when it's on a system with as low an install base as the PS3. Wii Doesn't count in this since it's a totally different beast.
So are the PS3 and the X360. Simply because they have similar control schemes does not mean that the hardware is even remotely the same. Hence, games have to be neutered in some way to be crossplatform.
well, that's one of the advantages/drawbacks of using a proprietary engine. I think porting costs to the 360 would be justifiable considering its established market share, although I smell some contractual arrangements to the opposite.
Well, the PS3 is only around 8 million consoles behind the 360. It's decent number but there's still a lot of PS3s out there...
This isn't porting a Dreamcast game to the Playstation. The only real difference between the 360 and the PS3 is the amount of storage space on a single piece of optical media. You know what negates this? Multiple disks. OH NOSE NEUTERING!!111oneoneeleventy. Get real.
