So THIS is why you told me to hold tight haha. Congrats. This is an amazing opportunity and you're going to nail it.
Congratulations! I live pretty close to there. Also, the last time I checked, ~1 year ago, they were missing an atari 400, just thought i would mention that.
Nice one! Sounds perfect for you. Good to hear it's not a weak museum! Actually, looking it up, it's no longer Strong National Museum of Play, but The National Museum of Play.... which is part of The Strong, thus their website logo says The Strong and then National Museum of Play underneath. Or, as the header says, The Strong | National Museum of Play. Although they keep referring to themselves as The Strong. First task... get them to sort that shit out! It's confusing!
1 - Assign each name a universally unique identifier (UUID) : Strong National Museum of Play = eb970934-f4e1-4a5c-adb1-a06f2751aaa5 The National Museum of Play = 9213d327-db3b-40dc-9bf2-6411ea80bd34 The Strong | National Museum of Play = b063f61e-fb3a-4860-9b3d-b3ee9fc124122 - In a database, link those UUID together somehow 3 - Refer to the museum by saying any of those UUID out loud e.g. "'b, zero, six, three, f, six, one, e, dash, f, b, three, a, dash, four, eigth, six, zero, dash, nine, b, three, d, dash, b, three, e, e, nine, f, c, one, two, four, one, two"4 - When asked "What the heck?", simply state all those name are unambiguously the same thing. Am I doing it right?
Congratulations Borman! Sounds like the perfect job for you. I knew that place was in New York where you were but I never put it together that you would end up there.
It's nice to see that they've included the early electromechanical stuff in with everything else. That is a wealth of history that is often neglected. The Game Creation Workshop sounds awesome, too. Tempting stuff.
