Looking good. Still excited about this even after all this time. Just thinking i've not played my Dreamcast for far too long :/ The obi makes it look perfect btw
Looks great! I'm excited about getting to check this out. Once again, thank you ASSEMbler for all your dedication to this project!
My understanding is that anyone who donated to the general site fund early in 2011 was automatically reserved 1 copy. If you paid $20 then you would need to pay an additional $30 to actually get it. Then when the fundraiser came about anyone who donated to it could get a copy but would have to donate a full $50 to secure it as well. Effectively you could have donated $1 to the site fundraiser to secure spot #1 and then donated $49 to the Geist Force fundraiser securing two copies. An additional $50, for a total of $100, would net you two pressed copies. Initially I donated to the site fundraiser and then again to the Geist Force fundraiser. If my interpretation is correct I owe an additional sum before I would be eligible to receive both copies. I have yet to have anyone directly involved tell me whether this is correct or not but I'd love to get an answer so that I may pay the balance left for a second copy - assuming I am indeed listed for two. If not I'll live. Obviously this has been a long journey that has had many setbacks as well as stresses. I am hopeful we are almost finished and can finally enjoy Geist Force. Which reminds me, I still need to finish internalizing a VGA board into my spare Dreamcast as well as finishing the overclock mod.
Hats off to you guys!!!! I wish I would have known about this! I would have gladly donated to the cause! Thats what I get for never really looking and trying to be involved in a gaming community. I love that you are preserving unfinished projects.
I'd say he can handle criticisim pretty well - I didn't donate but I have been following the progress over the last year - sure, it's slow but there have been reasons... Who would honestly liked to have taken on the task of putting out a repro copy of an official (but unreleased) Dreamcast game? There's a lot of heat involved not just legally (hence getting artwork printed at dif. locations, etc) but also the fact that DC discs aren't just 'regular' pressed discs > That's been the real problem for the last 5 - 6 months. Also, a LOT of time was spent debating, etc on how exactly to release it, etc. There's no reason for anyone to get upset - As has been said time and time again, ppl waited over ten years for this release - and never really expected it to surface. Even if I had donated, following the progress of this releases there's no reason for anyone to get upset or impatient. It's happening, slowly, but it's happening... There's nothing to suggest otherwise. If you're reading this Tim - go easy on the forum here - there's no reason to fan the flames and upset people. You just haven't been following this from day 1 like the rest of us.
I have a nice spreadsheet of everyone who donated, so I will be sending out the relevant info soon via email.
I know I dont post very often, but what was the point of the registration to buy spare copies of the game? I thought there was going to be a load spare after doners, etc. Just checked, according to my profile I have only posted twice. I am sure I have made more posts than that, though not many more.
I still regret not reading about this at the time of the donation/fund raising... Although I appreciate the fact that the torrent will be released, I'd love to get a printed copy. Anyway, those printings look awesome!!!
If you check this section of the forum there is a post for people who wanted to claim the spares and as you can see that list is pretty well. What I'm finding annoying is how new users are coming into this thread to troll and moan about the lack of spare copies. People had plenty of time to donate to either the project or the site fund. I know its been a long time coming but just relax the final product will be worth it and if you didn't donate all is not lost the torrent for the file will be released some point in the near future. Point being - Everyone will get the chance to play it so relax!
you really showed me by commenting after i was banned. your a real internet tough guy hiding under the skirt tails.
Professional work takes longer. He could've taken the lazy way out with hand written CD-Rs, but that's no collector's piece to see.
For the love of God, someone bad this man's IP address. To Assembler and the team, I'm sorry I didn't hear about this project until about a month ago. I would have loved to donate towards it. I don't mind burning an ISO, I can live with that, and I appreciate all the hard work that has been done by all of you. It's unfortunate people like this jack think they are entitled to something they didn't put any effort to. As for me, I'll wait patiently for the torrent. If it's tomorrow, if it's a year, it'll be worth the wait. And like I mentioned about a month ago, if you ever need a donation for the site, please let me know. Hope you're feeling better Assembler.
