Yeah right, SEGA recently clearly restated its mission as a software developer and publisher. I would be very surprised if they go back to develop hardware in the near future, especially in the now crowded handheld market. I love SEGA but what is their hope to compete against DS and PSP. Nice late april fools... Sabre
Plus, if they want to try to penitrate a market again, I dont think going with a Handheld is the way to do it
This is a fake. If you go to the sources, where it was first posted (http://www.inpactvirtuel.com/news/Sega-Console-5643-SEGA-NE-PREPARE-RIEN-DU-TOUT-COMME-CONSOLE-.htm) and read french, you'll clearly see that they say its an april fools. the tittle could translate to: Indeed, sega isnt preparing a new console !!! And the first part of the article says:
A handheld wouldn't be a bad idea (is easier than a console) but this design is clearly a joke. Just look at the specs: it would be easier to just make an origami-like device with a big-ass GPU and a merom CPU, so it could run PC games (it would be a success among the PC crowd) In reality they could release a handheld with specs between the DS and the PSP, and using cartridges. That would make a nice system since is not as big and unportable as the PSP nor as under-powered as the DS. And is possible: I heard Hitachi has finished work on the SH4+VR2 (ergo, dreamcast on a chip)
Yeah it is, but is way out of the line. My 3rd and 4th paragraph was to say what they could really do
