They should do what Street Fighter 2 is doing and make a good Sonic game in HD with handdrawn stuff or something. I hate how Sonic is just garbage now, and I hate these stupid furry crap storylines.
Fuck the storyline, as long as the gameplay is somewhere near as fun (but abit more difficult) as sonic rush, I'll be very happy. Now watching this trailer again while sober, My opinion is that it was done very tounge in cheek. obviously not to everyone's taste, But I found it amusing.
Watching the in game Sonic Unleashed clip on IGN makes me think the game is just the same as The Secret Rings. Nothing at all about a wearwolf on their clip. Why don't they make a 2D game like the new Wario Shake game? Yakumo
I liked secret rings. Definitely not a perfect game, but it was a step in the right direction. Somewhere between the locked on train ride of secret rings and the flailing arse botch that was the controls on sonic 06 would be about perfect for me :icon_bigg. I've never played or seen Wario Shake so I could comment on that.
Oh yeah, if the game is as good as the videos I've seen, which look really fun, then who cares. I just have a bad feeling they'll find some way to mess it up.

With the way things are I really don't blame anyone for being pessimistic towards Sonic games. Atleast that way you ain't gonna be disapointed. But to be honest for all there mountains of problems, I still had fun playing though Shadow the hedgehog and Sonic 06, so I'm reasonably sure I'll enjoy Unleashed. But I guess we will all have a better idea after E3 when (hopfully) they show some full on gameplay video's. And we get a better idea of what this werehog thing is going to be like. And as much as I have praise and gratitude for the dedicated people who make fan games, I have to admit I just don't follow there progress for fear of being disapointed when the game get's cancled or forgotten about.
I think we're always going to be biased, most of us on this board grew up with gaming at a time when Sonic 2 and the enhanced mechanics / algorithms incorporated were nothing short of amazing ... the 'havok' engine of its day... The demographic these days, i.e. kiddies with 360s as their first consoles don't have such appreciation, all about action, fancy effects and graphics - playability and fun are out the equation. SEGA have basically shat on the original adopters in favour of targeting the new video gaming kids. It's true, we wouldn't be happy unless it was a return to form of Sonic, just beating Eggman at the end of the second act of each stage with no story to follow... will just never happen :'-(

Thats the lamest attempt at viral marketing I've seen, EVER!. Yes, WTF is going at SEGA? How they greenlight shit like this, and at the same time amazing stuff like Madworld? Is like shadow all over again, stuff that looks like a friggin "kids analyst" created, instead of actual developers. I would give it a story, but only Sonic (fuck the rest, specially the wimpy fox) and for christ sake make him mute again! I was one of those who said "WTF he cant talk?" back in the 90s, but after the so-so dialog in the SA games and the abysmal one in heroes and 06, fuck him. And the game, I wouldnt give up on 3D, they just need someone who can remake the gameplay.
